: : : I was at the Map last week and watched these “high level” open runs. First, the “coaches” IF you can even call them that, hound these kids all week to come play and pay them. The basketball is a glorified all star game, with no defense! These I diots filming all of this hogwash. Sure it’s great for the kids because they get a cool highlight video for them to post on their social media, where everyone tells them they are D1 bound. When in fact, they are barely a D3 player...

: : Yeah it’s pretty atrocious! Dinos, Ballislife, and other social media outlets don’t help the situation because they only show the highlights and don’t show the game in real time context. It’s not fun to watch and it’s not good basketball when no defense is being played and defenders are like matadors all day.

: Agreed, it’s a complete joke.

We need college coaches to step up and speak out against this as well. I have had several conversations about how this is only hurting kids but it falls upon deaf ears; delusional will always drown out reason sadly. If college coaches across the board spoke up "We don't recruit off of highlight film" maybe it would slow it down! I know when I would get "mixed tapes" I replied back with can you please send me film of an entire game against the best opponent you played that year so I can assess you objectively vs a quality opponent.
