: : : : : sierra canyon, Orange Lutheran, Lasalle, brentwood ,flintridge prep, rancho christian, notre dame academy, st. margarets

: : : : : 8 out of the 10 champions once again come from the private schools.

: : : : : Lets here it for Rialto!!!

: : : : : There's just no way the public schools can compete.
: :

: : : : : CIF needs to step up and make divisions for just the private schools so that the public schools have a chance to get a taste of the gold at the end of the rainbow.

: : : :
: : : : The boys had a 50/50 split in public/private CIF Championships in basketball.

: : : : Corona/Centennial, Tesoro, Valencia/Val., Long Beach Jordan and Blair were public school winners.

: : : : Public schools can compete just fine the way things are right now. There can be fluctuations and given years when privates or publics win more. Think of how close and competitive the boys finals were. Division 3AA was the only division where a private school won their final by a large margin. CIF should be pleased with the overall competitiveness this year.

: : : appreciate your input. but the girls was really all i was talking about and its not and even split between public and private when it comes to girls basketball. and i get it. its the school not just the individual sport.

: : If the boys are 50 50 then yes the public schools can compete. What are you saying, girls is different than boys. nonsense.

: : So your saying there is no recruiting advantage in boys but there is in girls.

: : There are by far, fewer impact girls basketball players than there are boys. Because there are more boys who can play at a high level, the public school programs are able to get enough players to still be able to compete with the private schools. However, that is not the same with the girls. The number of college level players with high skill levels are much fewer, and thus, the private schools are able to snag the majority of them leaving the public schools to have to make due with players that they have to develop. Outside of a school like Etiwanda, whose coach is breaking every rule in the book, and has in the past, the majority of public schools are going to be at a huge disadvantage against the privates in every division.

1. How is Etiwanda Coach breaking every rule in the book? 2. Private schools have more girls participating in sports than public schools, more academic support and more parental support. Some, NOT ALL, public school kids, cant keep their grades up, therefore cant play, and parents are not as involved, because they are not paying out of pocket for the education. 8/10 private school wins on the girls side IS NOT FAIR. How can public schools even compete in the recruiting arena, when these private schools offer the sun, the moon and the stars to these kids and their parents. Private schools, have better trainers, coaches and facilities. Public school, may have a small weight room, no trainer and a coach that basically volunteers their time.
