Whatever happens do not have your child come to Arizona to play in any of our basketball tournaments. Iíve been coaching boys and girls basketball in this area for 10 years I consider myself to be fairly well-connected within the community here. I can tell you for a fact there are parents in Arizona who allow their COVID-19 positive children to play in tournaments. I have reported this to the tournament directors to only get a shrug of the shoulders and a quick ďI did what I canď. Trust me you do not want to place your health in the hands of these people. One of the larger independent girls club teams had three girls on their 16 U team test positive. But that team is still signed up for the tournament of champions. Do I know if those three players will play? No, however Iím sure that there were other girls on that team have who have been exposed. What Arizona has become is a cheap place to make a quick buck. There are a lot of promoters and organizers who have no connection with the state but no they can fly in and sell a dream With no regard for the health of the players or parents. Frankly, Iím shocked at how fast it is spreading here and the people of Arizona keep whistling in the graveyard. Again, donít do it to your child.
