: : : Updates:
: : : Coach Jerry Mike returns to Hart
: : : Coach T Palmer moves from Hart to Castaic

: : : Remaining:
: : : West Ranch - Open
: : : Valencia - Honaker
: : : Canyon - Haayer
: : : Golden Valley - Johnson
: : : Saugus - Conn

: : : Would have been an interesting summer as Saugus graduated all league PG and wing, but bring back an experienced guard, sniper and post, while Valencia only lost a wing and center, but have 2 dedicated players that have college offers along with some good role players. Canyon loses all their experienced bigs and guards and wing is transferring but they somehow get it done every year and compete. Hart is a mixed bag losing some solid senior talent but also have some young players that were thrown into the mix this past season. Don't see them making too much noise as they have to get used to a new program now. GV well if they don't lose any players to transfer, they may surprise and possibly work their way into 3rd best? Worst case of course is just above WR at the bottom of league standings.

: : Let us know whenever a Foothill team makes it back to a relevant division like Division 1 and can actually advance past the quarterfinals. The Foothill League is a joke. Saugus was ducking teams towards the end of the season because their coach knew that they weren't that good and only played and beat weak competition. The same went from Canyon and Valencia all of them have been weak for years now. The finals between Valencia and Canyon was so horrible the worst finals game I have ever watched and it was all because the old Valencia coach begged and pleaded not to be sent to the Open Division and got what he wanted. Talk about being a coward and short changing your players. But that sums up the Foothill League a bunch of little fish in a little pond if they ever get out into the bigger ponds they are food for everyone else.

: But you watched still...so you admit you're a fan! lol I picture you as the Washington Wizards famous heckler fan. BTW, Foothill is a public school league so it is what it is. Many top top top players that live in Foothill district wind up going to HW, Sierra, Cham, Alemany, which is okay cuz those are the schools that aim to be big fish. Public schools by definition compete in a different pond.

First of all POS is a coach. I feel for the kids but thats whats out there. Here re some bullets in your paragraph

1) Valencia coach begged not to be Open. You don't get to choose. There is a committee for that. Im pretty sure he played an extremely tough schedule that year including Sierra, Harvard and others so he wasn't ducking anybody.

2) Saugus played a weak schedule last year......Not even close. He played Santa Monica (CIF Champ) El Co, Glendora (d1), Granada (City Finals Open), Redondo (d1), Flintridge Prep, Camarillo (D1). That doesn't sound like someone who is ducking anyone. The year before they played Sierra Canyon, Chaminade. They don't duck anyone. They are a solid D2 team who plays D1 teams.

3) Foothill league is a little down because of Canyon. Usually they have 3 solid teams.

Lets talk about why the league is down. Most of the top players in the area are being swallowed up by recruiting privates like Village, Alemany, Chaminade, Sierra. Bottom line with Coach Mike back they have 4 top coaches in Honaker, Conn, Hayer and Mike who have not only averaged 20 wins per year and been deep in CIF (yes D1) and sent kids on to play in College. No they aren't the Trinity or the Gold Coast League but they are a top public school league year in and year out
