**No, but there will be an additive effect. You seem to be making the mistake of thinking that the deaths would be occurring anyway. That simply isn't true. While there would be an intersection between those who died of the virus and those who would have died anyway, you still will have those who would have only died of the virus.

And you know what, those people count as actual human beings. "That's what old people do; they die" was a funny line in Old School, but it's really not a good way to base public policy.
