: : Today, lets talk about attacking Zones. What are the best zone offenses. What are the keys to good Zone attacks? What differences are there in effective attacks depending on the type of zone? What do you think coaches?

: Good teams find a way to do these three things when beating zones

: 1) Screen the zones on the ball. Creates help up situations for drive and kicks.
: 2) Using the short corners. Girls teams don't hit short corners enough
: 3) Skip passes. Many girls teams don't skip enough, in part because someone one the perimeter doesn't have the strength to make the pass. Skip and screens are so effective but rarely used. The best teams use this tactic.

: Obviously having a High Post player that can attack and is comfortable catching there is huge.

Great answer above. Glad you have this thread up.
1) I get my best shooter in the corner to stretch the defense. Usually bigger players play on the box and too slow to come out and when they do do come outto contest you can atrack them with a dribble.

2) hi post action- you want your best player at the hi post. Keeps defense honest and opens up the perimeter and hi-low action.

3) ATTACKING GAPS. Very crucial. Attacking gaps creates opportunity. Anytime you are able to draw 2 or more players there will always be somebody open.
