: Thanks for the insight regarding the break down.

: One more question...

: Is CIF transparent with the computer rankings? I know several years ago their use to be a site (was it cal preps???) that had a comprehensive break down for teams. Does CIF post these rankings? I am familiar with the Coaches Poll, but not these computer rankings.

: Thanks in advance

1- State doesn't look at who played who in the sections. Thats not their jobs to avoid repeat matchups. There are usually repeat matchups at least once a division. HW and Troy were seeded correct except that the major flaw with State is there should never ever be a BYE in the Open. If Rosary would have been the 8 seed or Cathedral Catholic then both Troy and HW would have slid up a spot and they would have been the 3 and 4 seed on opposite sides. As for Orangewood, they won 2AA and West and King both were playing well and lost in semis of D1. They could have flipped those but not a big deal.

2_ As for computer rankings, its the committee that ranks the teams and uses all elements including the SS computer power profile from the current season which plays a big part of it. Only the SS has access to this computer and they are the ones who pass it along to the committee. If you want other computer rankings go to maxpreps and they still have them but those are nowhere near as accurate as the SS power profile.
