: : : : : : How can a normal person easily equate how their team faired this year?
: : : : : : CIF gives info but doesn't make sense to me. I know someone has it down for the normal person. Thanks!

: : : : : Easy...
: : : : : If they are playing tonight in 2nd round, they faired well.
: : : : : If they are NOT playing tonight, work harder for next year.

: : : : CIFSS does not do everything fair. It was shown with their playoff selection point blank. It not about working hard. All these team and coaches work hard to get their team to playoff. You need get off CIFss tip like they does everything right!

: : : I was able to figure it out. You assign points based on wins and losses to each and every one of your opponents and what division they are in currently. You also factor in if that team is .500 or below. Then divide by your total games. Actually easy enough. The point totals are on the website. You also add points for each round you play in playoffs.

: : : Next question. Are only CIF schools counted or do games vs city schools count as well? Their division system is different and each team in D2-D3 are more like D4-D5 CIF schools.

: : Out of Southern Section teams carry no value. So if you played a city section team then it doesn't count. Besides if you played a LA City Section team it shouldn't count anyways because outside of Palisades and maybe Granada Hills the whole City Section is a dumpster fire in a rubber tortilla factory.

: Actually, city section schools do count, same as Southern Section. Check the CIF website and do the math yourself. Out of State teams are the only ones that aren't counted in a team's power profile.

City section teams do not count for or against your power profile. Neither do teams outside your section...I believe...definitely not out of state. However, beating the higher rated City Section teams are considered when it comes to seeding and overall ranking for the playoffs.
