: : : : : : : : : : : : Pasadena beats Millikan!! All you haters out there must be sick. Crickets. On to the Quarters!! Whose next
: : : : : : : : : : : Pasadena in the house!!! We rule, respect and recognize greatness or our D1 girls. That's what it's all about. Just bring Orangewood already and skip all these other non sense games, lol Don't hate!
: : : : : : : : : : Admittedly I was a Pasadena detractor but they’ve proven me wrong. They’re peaking at the right time and playing really well. Still think Orangewood is a tough game but would not be surprised if Pasadena pulls off the win. Pasadena’s success along with Burroughs’s success in CIF is proven that the Pacific League is a quality league. Yeah it has couple of really bad teams but so does every league. As Burroughs parent I it’s hard to root for Pasadena but I totally respect their game and hope they continue to play well.
: : : : : : : : : Yes, Burroughs and Pasadena can beat Mater Dei, Windward or any of the Open teams.
: : : : : : : Nope Burroughs is right where they belong in 2A. They could never compete with Open Division teams and not a single Burroughs parent ever claimed Burroughs belongs in top division ever. On the other hand crazy Pasadena parents have boasted about their 2AA team being loaded with D1 transfer players and could competed with Mater Dei, Windward and Sierra Canyon.
: : : : : : : : Slow down there Burroughs parent, don't try to put your team in the same level as Pasadena. The only similar about the 2 is that they share the same league. That's it, Burroughs don't have the D1 talents as
: : : : : : : You’re right my bad. Pasadena is the greatest team ever assembled! What was I thinking. Burroughs collection of JV and barely varsity players beat that team with 3 D1 transfers once and had the second game within 5 points with 3 minutes left in the 4th. Burroughs is definitely not in the same class Pasadena. Good luck anyway. Keep it classy Pasadena parents as always.
: : : : : : Please, Pasadena were missing key players in those games. Burroughs play them at full force and good night, no chance. they're not in the same level, same league maybe that's it.
: : : : : I heard Pasadena AD was paying kids/parents...
: : : : This is 2aa badketball. Talking about open and not even d1? Ridiculous. Its like winning rec league and claiming ucla watching us. Congrats on winning in small bubble. Two games. Wow. Win 2aa then go to d1 state and make run there and we all will acknowledge Passdena better thsn thought. Until then... shhh.
: : : :: Yeah, kind of silly to brag about a team being Open Div. quality, when they haven't beaten or even played an Open Div. team. Pasadena beat a higher seeded Millikan by 5 pts . . . LB Poly, an actual Open Div. team, beat Millikan by 41pts. Orangewood Academy gets respect because they played several Open quality teams and beat two of them - Lynwood and Etiwanda. But Orangewood didn't qualify to be an Open team. The Open teams (especially the high seeds) are playing in a different universe. Pasadena and their fans just need to be happy they're in a lower division, and have a chance to win a few playoff games.
: : Few playoff games? You haven't been paying attention!!! Pasadena is in the wrong division since they are an Open team. Everyone's ducking them.
: : Few games? We are State bound after we capture CIF, see you in Sacramento.
: LMAO!! You mean Pasadena was ducking competition all season. Who did Pasadena lose to in one of their non-league games oh that's right Village Christian. Pasadena is a good school and team. But you all will never be any good. Your league is soft and just like Pasadena benefits from being in the lower divisions. If Pasadena was in Division 1 it would have been a first round loss. But hey the sun shines on a dog's ass every once in a while so enjoy it while you can. A win tomorrow and Pasadena qualifies for the state playoffs. So don't choke!!! Eventually the luck Pasadena has been having in the playoffs will run out and then it will be back to being a nobody.
: The sarcasm is pretty thick in this thread. But here is the deal, Pasadena is a loaded team for the division. Easily can play with most teams in the 1A division and could probably give one or two of the open teams a run on a really good night. But the fact is that they have a novice, inexperienced coach, the team can be very undisciplined at times, and that is what keeps them from any discussion of "open" division and why they aren't a lock to even win 2AA. Any talented team with a little height and a good coach in 2AA can beat them. Marlborough and Orangewood Academy should both handle them even though Pasadena may have the edge in talent. Saugus is well coached and big enough to handle their size, and even a team like Flintridge Prep would give them a real run. They may not get past North in the quarters. That still does not take away from the fact that Pasadena's starting five matches up with almost any starting five in the Southern Section outside of about 8 teams. We will see what happens this week.
