: : I am of the belief that teams are co champions based on league records regardless of head to head wins. Another friend thinks itís a tie breaker based on head to head wins. I know one team would have to be the league #1 for playoff seeding but would assume based on a coin flip. Teams are in different divisions. Could even be three way tie with each team having two wins over one of the other two teams.

: Every league has its own rules as to what constitutes a tie, and every league has different methods of tie-breaking. Some do a coin-toss, others look at head-to-head, and still others (only a few these days) will do a playoff game (if they still have a game open on their schedules which permits a game to be played before the official end of the regular season).

: Tie-breakers are not up to the CIF sections; they are solely determined by each league based on the particular league's bylaws.

Leagues are given number of automatics entries based on number of teams in leagues. Example 4 team leagues- 2 automatic entries, 5,6, team leagues - 3 automatic team entries. 7,8 team leagues 4 automatic entries. Leagues designate their #1, #2, #3, #4 based on league play. If tied teams are going to different divisions they can keep their finish spot. If teams go to same divisions the league(based on their bylaws) will designate who is 1 and 2. If their is a tie for an automatic entry(let's say 2 teams tied for 3rd in a 5 team league)then again based on bylaws of that league they could have a tie-breaker game if time permits. Hope that helps!
