: Etiwanda led 4-3 after 1st quarter and 14-12 at halftime. Score was tied 18-18 after 3rd quarter.

: Both teams made only 10 field goals, Etiwanda attempted 49 shots and Poly 44. There were more combined free throws made in the 2nd half (11) than field goals (10).

: 3 ties and 15 lead changes total, including 8 alone in the 4th quarter.

: Half-court zone defense was impressive on both sides, with each team forcing double-digit turnovers. Biggest lead for either team was 4 points.

: Etiwanda led 28-27 with 36 seconds left on a basket by Jessica Peterson. Kalaya Buggs made 2 free throws with 7.4 seconds remaining to give Poly the 29-28 lead. Joy Campbell missed potential winning shot for Etiwanda off front of the rim on a runner in the lane in the final 4 seconds.

: Campbell led all scorers with 14 points and Peterson added 6 points for Etiwanda (8-3).

: Kalaya Buggs and Ashlee Lewis both had 9 points for Poly (8-2), which also beat Etiwanda 44-37 on Dec. 6 at Troy Classic.

:
: : 28-29 LB Poly. What happened? Very low score for both teams.

This is an important game for seeding in the Open Division. Both teams will be a top 4 seed and with 2 wins over Etiwanda Poly will stay ahead of them. My guess is Poly will be a top 3 seed and Etiwanda 4 or 5 when it is done.
