: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Anyone have any ideas how the Pacific League will shape up this year? Seems to always have competitive games amongst the top 4/5 teams.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Arcadia lost alot from last years team
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Burroughs is always tough and has their main girl back
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Pasadena has tons of athleticism and a good guard
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Crescenta Valley lost some key players
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Glendale is still big
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Burbank, Muir, and Hoover are probably fighting for last place

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 1. Pasadena is the dominant team in this league. So much talent returning along with 3 sit out players of high magnitude. Would be shocked if they lost a game in the league. Only major issue is a question mark on coaching. Maybe the 6th best coach in the league

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 2. Glendale. They have the best balance other than Pasadena. They are huge and the guards are decent. They are well coached also. They willl fight it out for 2nd.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 3. CV and Burroughs tie. Both are well coached and CV has all the guards and shooting and no size. Burroughs has all the size and no guard play. Both are vulnerable but coulee beat Glendale

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 5. Arcadia- they lost a lot. Poor coaching also. Not sure if they recruited any players back so if they didn't they are 5th

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 6. Muir- They might be better than usual. If they have a .500 record they should contend in a low division for a CIF title. They have more talent than Burbank

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 7. Burbank- They play hard but they have zero talent. limited in their skills. Jett is a good coach but you can't get chicken salad out of chicken...

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 8. Hoover- They are bad. No care at all. Wont come close to winning a game

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Calling the Arcadia coach a poor coach and then calling the Glendale coach who is a complete jackass a good coach has me questioning your league standings.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : Anybody that has followed the Pacific League knows that it will come down to the final weeks. Pasadena will lose a game or two and it shouldn’t be a surprise. It would be surprising if the league champ goes undefeated in league play.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : Pasadena is loaded and should win outright.. No matter if the coach is good or not. They are only slightly vulnerable before the transfers are eligible, once they are eligible, they could be a borderline Open team. You are also right about Muir, if they can just have a .500 record, they could easily win their CIF division..but they have to get in. So far, they have been scheduling soft to get the wins.

: : : : : : : : : : : Pasadena is NOT an open division team or program. They are a D3 team with good players. Win state in little d3 and then you can talk.

: : : : : : : : : Obviously you have not seen the team the currently have nor do you know the quality of the three transfers that they are getting. They will have two legitimate 6'1 centers, a 20 plus a game scorer, and four legitimate guards, with another 6'2 off the bench. They beat Palisades without the transfers. As it was said in the post, they will be a BORDERLINE open team. What will keep them from being an open team is their coaching. But the talent is for real. Go watch them
: : : : : : : : :

: : : : : : : : LMFAO!! Pasadena is a borderline Open team? That's some funny stuff there. Hey mom or dad I know you want to pump your daughter's team up but obviously need to stop smoking weed. I have seen Pasadena and they are not that good and will not be that good with their transfers, sorry. Yes they could be a match-up problem for some of the teams in their division but not ones that can match up with Pasadena's height or athleticism. Besides, Pasadena hasn't beaten anybody good. You mentioned Palisades okay. Palisades is probably the best team in LA City but that's not saying much. Even Palisades coach knows that they are good but not at the level that they were playing at Keppel. Pasadena got blown out by La Jolla Country Day an Open team from San Diego. If Pasadena played LJCD again the results would be the same a 20+ point win for LJCD. Pasadena got blown out by Roosevelt and they are not an Open team but a top 20 team in Division 1 so keep talking. Had Pasadena kept the games close with LJCD and Roosevelt I would agree with you but since they didn't nope. Pasadena is a good team but they will not win Division 2AA in fact they will not make it past the Quarterfinals, just like last season. Take care there mom or dad and I can't wait to see Pasadena again and listen to all of the crying and the whining when Pasadena loses to a Burroughs or another Pacific League team.

: : : : : : : POS,

: : : : : : : Nobody said they are Open with the team they have now. You are correct. They are just a solid 2AA with the team now. What you don't speak of is how the transfers will take them to another level. They have 3 players that averaged a combined 50 ppg at the varsity level. Two guards and an absolute monster post. With them they will be one of the favorites in 2AA with Orangewood, Flintridge Prep and Marlborough. No they aren't an open team but they will be a really powerful team that has zero chance to lose before the quarters or to a league team. Why you are mentioning results from games that already played I have no clue. They are good now. Just good. Not great. In two weeks they will be a top 25 team in SO CAL. PERIOD

: : : : : : Dear Dad, Your daughters aren't that good. They were good for Eagle Rock and they might be good for Pasadena. But they are not most definitely Open/D1 good! Even if they were that good Pasadena HS would be the last place they would've transferred to!

: : : : You never know!!! It is EXTREMELY common to see twenty point scorers in d3 ball play s real D1/open team and watch their scoring drop to six. The team and individual defense in open is exponentially greater than a d3 school ever sees. Proof will be when league starts. Every team in that league would lose by thirty to the open teams do if pas can win by thirty every league game then maybe they truly are a borderline open team! But looking at the roster not much stands out. I hope they do! It would be a great story!

: : : You can't talk like you already know if you haven't seen the D1 transfers they have. In my opinion, with the exception of Sierra and Mater Dei they can compete and beat the other Open teams once those transfers start playing.

: : : I won't be surprised if they beat MD and Sierra after MD lost to Long Beach and Sierra barely got by Rosary in overtime. You just wait and see. You think you are an expert, you are not!

: : Pasadena is losing to CV & Burroughs twice and once to Glendale.

: Another loser talking like he had seen the transfers play.

I will play your game. So Pasadena has gotten transfers and you think that they can compete with the best? Have you seen the transfers play yet? If so, where? How did they do. Please share with us your insight. You pointed out earlier Pasadena's win over Palisades but didn't like the fact that I pointed out that Pasadena lost to La Jolla Country Day where a legit college Division 1 guard lit Pasadena up. So you want to point out a win over a decent LA City team but when Pasadena loses to LJCD and Roosevelt badly you point out that and I quote, "Why you are mentioning results from games that already played I have no clue." Well that's because you brought up Palisades. Really? You can't point out something and ignore the other part of the truth.

Then you mention that the transfers average 50 points a game together. I looked around and the average Open Division team averages around 60 points a game. So with these transfers Pasadena is going to score 100 points a game? WOW!! That's amazing. I have never seen a girls basketball team score 100 points a game where everyone can score at will. That will be amazing and also never going to ever happen. Last time I checked there are 5 basketball players on the court and only 1 basketball. So ummmm...I hate to break it to you but no everyone is going to score. Oh and those 50 points a game you mentioned are from last year I assume and therefore by your own words, why are you mentioning past results?? You are right, none of us but you have seen these transfers play so who knows what they can do. But here's the thing. If the coach tries to work those kids into her current rotations it is going to throw things off for a bit. Kids that play now will now sit on the bench and their parents are not going to like that. Moreover, these transfers might not fit the system or the role that the Pasadena coaches what them to play. So that's another issue. These transfers could be so good but if they only know how to play a certain position then they will struggle.

But with Pasadena they don't play structured basketball. All of their points come off of steals and in transition.

Too bad Pasadena couldn't schedule games against tougher opponents, I mean Pasadena is playing Village Christian in a non-league game? Mighty and formidable Village Christian at a showcase. Why not, play a better team like Sierra Canyon or Windward? I am sure both have openings available and would gladly play Pasadena. Have the coach back out of the showcase or find a better opponent at the showcase. Put your money where your mouth is and tell your coach to step up her scheduling.

Oh wait that wouldn't happen because if Pasadena would play LB Poly with those transfers eligible, it wouldn't even be close. LB Poly and all of the other top teams in Southern California would walk all over Pasadena. All those things that makes Pasadena a good team wouldn't matter. LB Poly and the other teams would pick apart a weak team like Pasadena. Here's why LB Poly is just as athletic as Pasadena. They got size like Pasadena. They would match up will against Pasadena. LB Poly has a way better coach and his team will out hussle and out play Pasadena. Once things don't go Pasadena's way the kids start getting snippy with each other and they drop their heads and they quit. Oops, I mentioned something I saw in past games with the kids on the team.

I get that you are trying to pump up your daughter's team and all. That's great and all. But here's what is going to happen and I already said it. Pasadena will not make it past the quarterfinals in Division 2AA. Even if Pasadena does make some noise and does well, it will end in a few years and Pasadena will slip back into the abyss of being a nobody again and soon no one that is a fan of girls basketball will remember how good Pasadena was.

Oh and I am not an expert and neither are you so if that is your only rebuttal to what I said then it shows that you have no argument and thus I am right. So come up with something with an actual argument if you want me and others to take you seriously. If not, then please keep your opinions and your fandom to yourself.
