: : : : : : I saw my share of games this summer and fall. Here is my list of teams I believe to be open-bound based on my views. Feel free to add or take away, but for Gods sake please no childish name calling.
: : : : : : 1. LB Poly. Solid squad, decent coach, size and speed.
: : : : : : 2. ML King. Solid squad, really good coach, lacking size, but great guard play.
: : : : : : 3. Centennial. Solid squad, decent coach, all-around balanced team.
: : : : : : 4. Orangewood Academy. Solid squad, really good coach, combo of size and guard play.
: : : : : : 5. Mater Dei. They got it all.
: : : : : : 6. Rosary. Injury hurt, but still solid. Need size.
: : : : : : 7. Windward. Defending Open champions. Enough said.
: : : : : : 8. Sierra Canyon. Interesting team. Curious to see where they end up.
: : : : : : 9. Etiwanda. Joke of a coach, but athletic team with size and guard play.

: : : : : Very solid list and would be my pre-season open list. One thing is for sure. This year it will be decided on the court. Many of these teams play the teams on the outside of this list. So we will learn by watching the season play out.

: : : : Troy was young last year so they are in the mix again. #8 last year. Chaminade picked up the best player from Alemany, D1 commit, so they are top 8 for sure imo. Also, West Torrance, is back after a learning year last season. They can play as well, in the mix. Is Redondo down this year? Camarillo could be in the mix along with Lynwood.

: : : Are you referring to the Goostrey injury? if not-they announced at Trinity League media day that she's out for the season. Big loss and might jeopardize shot at Open Division.
: : Good list. Chaminade may need to be at the top of it though. Addition of kim is true game changer. Centennial dynamic and fast and good shooters. Ran HW and redondo out of gym both by easy twenty. Camarillo no wherenear. Scored only 14 the whole game against rosary missing their third best girl. Lynwood not even a good d1 team. Average. Redondo needs to getbetter , did not look like open team. Poly on bubble of open. Maybe .troy-maybe, but not as hood as any of the other potential open teams West torrance too tiny butsolid d1 team, HW solid d1, but thats it. The rest are solid. gonnabe great year in d1 hoops!!

: : After watching teams this Fall, I gotta put Chaminade and Redondo Union in that SS Open list over LB Poly and Orangewood Academy. Chaminade returns a D1 player and will have solid guard play. Redondo returns a lot of size with a very good wing player, and a three point specialist. LB Poly is going to play hard and physical, but lacks skill players/shooters. Orangewood will be well coached, but lacks upper division talent. Also, Bishop Montgomery, who was an Open team last year, will take a few steps back. They have a D1 player, but not a lot around her. They are a low D1 team if everything goes right ... probable D2 team.

You said Chaminade will have solid guard play. That's funny because I that is one spot they lack, a ball handler. You either haven't seen them play and getting your info from one of the parents or you are one of the crazy parents from Nade, lol

Having said that, they will be in the Open and will do well but they are not getting passed Windward or Sierra in the post season. They don't have ball handlers and new coach is not the same caliber as Dimuro. She's been with the program for years you might say, but she's no Kelly.
