: : : : Preseason Girls Top 10 - City Section

: : : You clearly havenít seen any city section teams play and are just guessing. Your rankings arenít close. Stop assuming a program is still good because of their name and past and actually go watch city section girls basketball. Thanks

: : City Section games we attended last year or teams we saw play:
: : Legacy Tournament
: : Carson
: : Westchester
: : Mark Keppel tourney - (eagle rock and a venice I believe)
: : Hamilton vs Palisades @ hamilton
: : Palisades and a few others in burroughs tourney
: : Arleta and several others in El Camino Real Tourney
: : Elco vs GH Charter (2)
: : Just to name a few.

: Yes LAST YEAR. Itís a whole new year and all these teams look different then when you saw them. You should contact the Eagle Rock coach and see if he agrees with you that they are an open team this year JUST BECAUSE they have been strong in the past. Thatís just one example

When doing a preseason poll, yes there are several factors that go into play and being a perrenial power definitely weighs in on the conversation at the end of the day. You don't have to see a team to get an idea of whether or not they will grow from last. Unless a team has lost players to transfers, common sense will tell you that. We also look at how many players are returning, travel ball circuit buzz, popscout datatbase of over 300 games over the past 10 years, and other factors such as coaching, academics, and in coming freshmen. So yeah it's not just one factor. Hope this clarifies things for you.
