: : : : : : : : : : : : Good morning ladies & gentlemen. I was talking to a good friend of mine this past weekend and he and I were reminiscing on the days when our daughters were playing high school ball. We were talking about the teams that ran the table back then in 2009 -14. While talking and thinking about that, a question came to mind...Is it the same teams still running the show, or have other programs risen to the top?

: : : : : : : : : : : : I believe the same dog-on squads are still running the show for the most part from the time of 2009 to 2014. Not much of a difference. Are you talking about Southern Section or City?

: : : : : : : : : : : Only something from the city will ask if it's SS or City, otherwise none of the city teams will be in discussion, lol

: : : : : : : : : : "Someone" from the city, lol freekin auto fill.

: : : : : : : : : I'll take a hack at this since I'm still kinda in the loop of things. The teams I will mention below may not be in a specific order from best to least, but from I've gathered, they've been topic of conversation or at the top since I can remember.

: : : : : : : : Harvard Westlake

: : : : : : : : Long Beach Poly

: : : : : : : : Mater Dei

: : : : : : : : Redondo Union

: : : : : : : : Sierra Canyon

: : : : : : : : Alemany

: : : : : : : : Canyon

: : : : : : : : Chaminade

: : : : : : : : Valencia

: : : : : : : : Rosary

: : : : : : : : Windward

: : : : : : : : Fairmont Prep

: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : For this year, ON PAPER, I see these as being best teams. Doesn't account for continuing fluid rosters, chemistry issues, coaching etc. Just should be the best based on who is on the roster.

: : : : : : : In no order...

: : : : : : : Sierra Canyon
: : : : : : : Harvard Westlake
: : : : : : : Long Beach Poly
: : : : : : : Alemany
: : : : : : : Mater Dei
: : : : : : : Etiwanda
: : : : : : : Brea
: : : : : : : Windward
: : : : : : : Fairmont Prep

: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Sleeper team is Bishop Montgomery, assuming Kayla Williams actually enrolled.

: : : : : : : Ventura High will be very different this coming year. It will be a rebuilding year. They lost all their horses to graduation last year.

: : : : : :No love for Nade, what gives?

: : : :
: : : : No impact frosh, no impact transfers, best guard out with ACL. Third place in Mission League, not an Open Division contender. Maybe win a couple games in D1 playoffs.

: : : If Ventura would of played the girls right they would have more ballers there but since she is a "different" coach she loses players and her credibility she does not know how to take her team and put right players in thats why no one is going to enroll at the school probably lost some more kids.

:
: : There is no longer open enrollment in their school district.

: : Many of the girls that contributed to their success were from other areas.

: : Now all the schools only get who they have in their enrollment area. So regardless of how the Ventura coach or any of the district coaches handle their business, they now have only the kids in their enrollment area to work with.

: : Look for Buena and Oxnard to be better now as in the past better players were going to Ventura.

: Should make for a pretty competitive league after this year?

I heard the leagues out there are re-aligning after this year, so tough to say without knowing what they actually look like.

But in theory yes, as after this year Ventura will have one really good player left.
