: : : : : : : : Now that School is only a few weeks away how are the City section schools looking ? With all the coaching changes in the city Has anyone seen the following school play:
: : : : : : : : Pali, Fairfax, Granada hills, El Camino, Legacy, Carson, Narbonne, Eagle Rock ?
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : Next question… Is there any team making a impact to be a Open division team?
: : : : : : : : please no hating..
: : : : : What makes Granada Hills a successful program every year?
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Still a lot to be sorted out before school starts.
: : : : : : : Lots of Rumors that Torino really is leaving Pali (like it's already happened) and that Kayla Williams is right behind him. Their other guard already left. If Williams does leave, that only leaves Nwaba, and I would think she may leave at that point.
: : : : : : : El Camino has new coach and hasn't had their team together much due to travel ball.
: : : : : : : Granada has had most their team and looks to be solid as usual.
: : : : : : : Carson is supposedly getting Myrah Joseph and some other players.
: : : : : : : Heard nothing about any of the other City teams.
: : : : : : : As of today, and obviously this is way to early with all the movement that may still happen, top four teams will be some combo of Granada, Fairfax, Carson, Elco. Wildcard is Pali.
: : : : : : Pali coach is gone! Fairfax has a new coach and so does Elco.
: : : : : : I've seen Legacy play. They lost there big and little guard but return the rest of there squad. They senior is a beast. The 2 sophomore guards are nice. But after them rest of team is average. If the 3 can carry the team then they might be one to watch.
: : : : Pali definitely not winning, all their girls have transfered out the last two years. Cubbard is going to be bare for the new coach. Granda, fairfax or granda winning it all.
: : Granada is successful because they are very consistent. Stable coaches. They don't recruit, they just get some solid kids and they develop them. They actually get good varsity contributors from JV. They play smart ball and don't make mistakes. When they have a couple of "Plus" players, like they do now with Mitchell and Miranda, they compete for City. But even with just whatever they have any given year, they are always competitive due to consistency of coaching, system, etc.
: I agree, Granada is successful because they have the best coach in the city that knows the game and will work with the talent he has. If you gave him the talent fairfax or Pali gets he would win every year. Should be Granada and fairfax fighting it out this year.
You are like a broken record - every post is the same. Granada has the best coach, Fairfax has the best team.
Congrats to Fairfax for winning last year, but honestly Pali should have won. Torino did a horrible coaching job, especially in the second half. He made zero adjustments to stop Fairfax who literally ran the same play over and over and over again.
And at this point, to try to pick the two best teams is not possible as no one has seen them all play this summer, which in itself is no indicator.
I would say any serious talk of who are the contenders cannot take place until December and we actually see who is where, how all the new coaches are adjusting, and how they are all playing.
