: : : : : : So now that that Summer Leagues has started how are some of the team in the city looking?
: : : : : : Any new teams on the rise ? any power house programs going down ? There has been a lot of coaching changes especially in the Open division and Division 1 for this upcoming season.
: : : : : : positive feed please no bashing players.
: : : : : 1.Carson
: : : : : 2.Westchester

: : : : 1) Carson
: : : : 2) Fairfax

: : : : 5) Westchester
: : : : 6) Narbonne
: : : I love how people put the defending CHAMPS 6th when they only lose one of their top girls and have the best player in the city back as well as the best sophomore in the city coming back. It will be fax, Carson and Granada fighting it out. El co has a bunch of solid girls but no superstars.
: : You come on here all the time propping up Fairfax and bashing El Camino. Where are your props for Granada coach as best in City? Might as well hit all your talking points. They are getting old. Do you actually see any of the teams play besides Fairfax?
: : Bottom line - this summer has shown nothing so far. Pali hasn't played a game. Rumors still out there about Torino and Williams leaving - but are they? Fairfax played 7 players last year and 4 graduated, including their best player. Lair is really good, but she lost her running mate. One player can be stopped, especially without a great jumper to go with her great driving ability. Carson is supposedly loading up. If Joseph goes to Carson, she is 1/1A with Williams has best player, especially with the lack of bigs in City. El Camino's best players have been at club stuff most of summer. But a couple of their frosh from last year look improved, especially the guard. Granada looks good as they have everyone at most games. Couple nice shooters up from JV - as one of only schools who develops JV players, it looks like it could help this year. I don't get Westchester. Who is coaching and who do they have? Heard coach is gone despite winning D1 (which is 9th place). Birmingham is a solid program with solid coach and is on the rise. They just don't have any top players. If that changes in the next year or two, watch out. Narbonne is much the same as Birmingham - solid program and coach, but just needs to get some top players.
: : Bottom line is, this summer is the worst I remember. I have yet to see any top team - City or SS - have a full squad. Too many players, especially next year's seniors, are off at club getting ready for July viewing period. And there is nothing wrong with that. Scholarships > summer wins in front of a few parents.
: : These discussions are fun, but really pointless until school starts at a minimum until we see who ends up where and who all the cvoaches are.
: How is the granada coach the best coach in the city? what top teams he beat because he haven't beat Fairfax or Palisades .
The poster "Fairfax" and he/she uses other names, constantly in every post says Granada guy is the best in the City. I'm not saying he isn't good, but until you determine the criteria, I'm not putting that title on anyone.
