: : Was anyone at the tournament. Did the twins play. Is camarillo that good. Just curious.

: Twins did play. Camarillo had the lead most of the game. Post play for them needs to get better. They play hard.

From what I saw here is my assessment.
Semi Finals-
Balboa Hills good club team. Was up on HW big until twins got there. Coach backed up on twins each time they had the ball and had 3 in paint and allowed them to shoot. Twins looked like they struggle to shoot the ball. HW guards got hot. Hit 9 threes.
If HW can shoot like that they should be even better than last year. Twins look like they have help in 6 foot plus post. Super athletic. Shot blocker. Another future stud. Guard play looks better this year from HW. Twins haven't developed enough. Super players but limited from the perimeter. Would have liked to see more from them

Balboa- first time seeing them. Didnt watch 3rd place game. They play hard. Good guard play. I like them. But its club vs HS. Don't really care about them

Camarillo- Amazing job. Not super athletic, not talented. They don't have caliber of twins but looked outstanding and can be a top 10 team in so cal. Excellent guard play. very deep. Team stays together. You can tell they like each other and are well coached. Definitely the surprise of the tournament

Canyon- Looked a bit down. Saw half their game against Brentwood. Solid team with an excellent PG. I heard their 6'3 post was missing. Will make a huge difference as they are already big. Probably lacking a second or third elite guard to call them a top 20 program. Will be very good.

Brentwood- Saw them for a half. Looked really small but played well. Fast and can shoot. Good guards. No size whatsoever so so Canyon beat them up inside. Did a great job to keep it close. Look young. Might be a surprise team

Valencia- Saw their game with Cantwell. Excellent team. Not sure how they got killed against Camarillo. Good size and excellent guard play. They lost 4 studs but you won't tell from the way they play. Will contend and are favorites for their league with Canyon.

Cantwell Sacred Heart- first time seeing them this year. A bit down from last year without Perkins but they can shoot are well coached and have a solid system. Nice to see a disciplined program from that area. Fun to watch

Santa Monica- Lots of bodies. Not much talent. Had to be missing players. Saw them for a half vs Saugus

Saugus- Has a really good PG. Decent size. Might be improved this year. I know they have a good coach but compete in a very tough league. I enjoyed watching them

West Ranch- didnt see them

Archer- didnt see them

Burbank- Saw 10 minutes against TVT. Have a really good thick guard. Has a nice shot and plays hard. Not much else around her. Had to be missing players like most teams.

Birmingham- The surprise team of the tournament. He has a very nice team with lots of pieces. Played Camarillo tough and lost to the good club team. Also beat Canyon at this tourney. Good size and solid guard play. They play hard, well coached and get after it. Might be the city surprise team this year. I will follow them. Take notice

Leuzinger- Saw them vs Burroughs. Very young. Lost a lot from last year. Have a very tough samoan guard left handed. Lost of 9th graders. They won CIF and have a bright future but may take some lumps this year in their tough league but the next three years watch out.

Burroughs- Beat Leuzinger. They play hard. I love watching them play because they are tough and defend well. Not much talent. They struggle to score. Heard they were missing their 6'3 center but guard play is shaky. Will be ok but might not be the cream of the league this coming year with the emergence of Glendale, CV, Pasadena. Never count them out though
