: : : : I can't believe they let go of the bishop Amat coaching staff. It has to be more to the story.
: : : What besides Bishop Amat being irrelevant? Oh my how the might have fallen. Oh well, at least Bishop Amat is like all of the other schools in the San Gabriel Valley. Maybe Wiard's son will come back and take over the program. Now wouldn't that be ironic, having the old man back on the sidelines yelling and cussing at the players and the refs.
: : Do they have a replacement yet?
: Wow, I thought Duran was doing a good job. What do they expect, You have to give a coach some time to build a program. They did fairly well in the play-offs last year. By the way, where were some good teams in the SGV last season. There are good teams and weak teams in every area, who where are you suggesting?
: Are there any coaches in the area looking or that Amat could lure back? How about these coaches who are out there. Waird (Richard or Scott) would be a shocker considering how they left. Kevin Comier has been solid everywhere, Mike James has been a big part of Walnuts improvement, Theresa Burner had some success in 2 stints at Alhambra. Or would they try to get another high profile private school coach to step in. It almost seems like Amat has been spinning its wheels over that last 4 years.
I dont see why any of those coaches would apply for Amat. Clearly something is going on beyond the coaching with the administration. Whenever a long time coach leaves like Wiard did it tells you as a coach you dont want to coach at that school. I wouldnt send my kids to Amat either since some of those kids will now have 3-4 coaches in just as many years.
