: : : : : : : : Who did Cal Swish end up snagging? Wondering when that roster is going to be up.
: : : : : : : I literally just looked too! LOL
: : : : : : Russ hasn't retired?
: : : : : Hope Russ never retires given he just went to the NAIA final four and is the only Socal EYBL coach with a championship. He does it right IMO, especially in the way he treats the girls.
: : : : Uh...Crichlow has won several JC championships at Mt. Sac, so your statement is pretty invalid.
: : : LOL BECAUSE NONE OF HIS KIDS CAN MAKE IT ACADEMICALLY TO A D1. ^^^ A majority of his JUCO athletes are division 1 bounce backs or never make it there at all.
: : All of Vanguard's players couldn't make D1 or were bounce backs as well. You didn't think your slam out very well, did you?
: I really didn't need to.
: Mt. Sac's athletes are all athletes who should have gone division 1, but couldn't.. Mostly due to grades and maybe even some because of their attitudes. A majority of Vanguard players with the exception of a few belong at that level. (and quite frankly meet the academic requirements of a great academic university.)
But if they're bouncebacks, that means they did qualify for a D1 and left for one reason or another. So I'm sure they could have qualified for the oh so prestigious Vanguard, which only requires a minimum 910 SAT score or 19 ACT to get into. Pretty low scores there.
Some Mt. Sac's players had attitudes. Some of the others didn't get the offers they felt they deserved. Others were too small or too slow. Its some of the same reasons some girls wind up playing D2/NAIA/D3 instead of D1. Still not seeing much of a difference here, but I do concede some are grade related. That is a difference.
Clarification: Russ has never won an EYBL championship. The EYBL was started by Nike in 2010. Russ won Nike Nationals in 2008. The only SoCal team that has won an EYBL championship is Team Taurasi, who won in 2014.
