: : : : : My daughters coach is insisting that his team all wear the same team shoe and socks. I just spent a grip on flourescent shoe my daughter wanted. What should we do?
: : : : Simple, undermine the coach's authority by not going along with the plan and not buying into the system and just allow your kid to do whatever they want. When your kid doesn't play because she doesn't do what the coach says to do. Then, go meet with the coach and demand a reason why your daughter doesn't play and it will all trace back to the fact that you spent a grip on florescent shoes to make your kid look cool versus allowing your kid to be a team player and follow the coach's wishes because maybe if you are on this team it is a tried and true system that works. But go ahead and do what you want because parent and player happiness is always what is more important than not being apart of a team.
: : : And then you and your daughter can sit down and watch this together. After that, you can make your decision. Thank you by the way. Thank you for being a prime example as to why no one wants to coach any more... Fluorescent shoes... what a joke.

: : Why should shoes matter. If the kid can go then my feeling is let them wear the shoes they like.
: The fact that you even say that says enough. Thank god I don't have to coach your kid! She woudln't be playing for me!
The only issue I have with using the same shoes is, fit and comfort for the players. All shoes are not made the same. A size 10 in Adidas is not the same as Nike, or UA. If the shoe doesn't fit properly then it can affect the players ability to perform. My daughter lives the UA shoe designs, but their sizing and fitting is not right. But Fluorescent shoes should not be criteria for not going with team shoes.
