: : : : : : Lies one of the massive problems with girls sports.

: : : : : : You people bitch and whine that only 12 teams out of 16 were represented in the selections?? LMAO

: : : : : : Not everyone wins. People lose. Some people are better than you. Some are more talented. This shit isn't AYSO as hard and as loud as you cry for it to be.

: : : : : : Fair?? LMAO. It's sports. Just like like. Neither is fair.

: : : : : : Why don't you whine to the CIF and make them enact a regulation that forces 7500 people to attend your games, give everyone a player of the year trophy and let all teams be crowned state champs because gosh darnit they tried.

: : : : : Well that's what Division 3,4,5,6 are all about, giving teams that don't deserve it a chance to win playoff games and a mythical Championship when there are hundreds of better and more deserving teams. Bad. Sad. Awful. Terrible.

: : : : Well that's the most IGNORANT comment probably ever. The other divisions were created so teams have a chance to win championships and boost morale. It became evident that watching Brea and Mater Dei duke it out year in and year out was asinine. Yes, sometimes school get the bad luck of the draw in certain divisions, but their chance will come! The purpose was to drag all of the elite schools out and let them go after each other. (and even then, they still end up in state and win a D2 championship) CIF has helped so many schools and its been a good decision to allow other smaller school to compete!!!

: : :
: : : My point was missed.

: : : I'm the last person who thinks everyone deserves a trophy.

: : : However, individuals - boys or girls - that work their butts off and are elite deserve to be recognized.

: : : Again, Littleton was Gatorade CA POY and doesn't make All-CIF? Just because her team didn't win enough Open playoff games?

: : : Ryann Payne is one of the top players in the state and gets nothing?

: : : Some of the Open players named only picked because their team went far in playoffs. And, lots of average players getting All-CIF in D1 and below.

: : : I'm just saying something needs to be looked at to reward the BEST players, not just a player on a team that wins a couple more games.

: : A lot of elite kids get the "you're the best" all of their lives. In my mind, a piece of paper doesn't make you less or more of a player. Bottom line is that everyone knows that Littleton is one of the top guards in the state (obviously) but how often are other kids on her team looked over because of her? It takes a Village, not just one kid. I understand what you're saying because credit is due where credit is earned, like i said.. it takes a village to create greatness. You think the #6,#7, and #8 on clovis west and long beach poly are bummed because they didn't make a CIF team? Kids who put in the same work every single day as the ones who are getting all of the accolades... I don't think so.

: I feel like my IQ was lowered reading this thread. People are honestly complaining that Destiny Littleton, who plays for Bishop's in La Jolla, that belongs to CIF-SAN DIEGO SECTION, didn't make ALL CIF-SOUTHERN SECTION?

: Ya'll are really reaching here.

You are correct. That (Littleton) was a mistake. Section/State starts to blur after a while. LOL.

But the point is the same.

The BEST players should be picked regardless of how many post season games their team won.
