: : : Top 5 city teams for 2017 year:

: : : 1) Fairfax (clear cut favorite)
: : : 2) Granada
: : : 3) Narbonne
: : : 4) El Camino
: : : 5) Palisades

: : Why is Fairfax the clear cut favorite?

: : They have one of the top players coming back. But they had a small roster this year and graduate four including their 1/1A player. And who is coaching?

: : Granada has most of their team back, including best player (Mitchell). They are definitely in the mix.

: : Narbonne at 3? I see them as getting better, but how can you put them at three? El Camino, for whatever reason hated here, brings back their entire team. So why would Narbonne suddenly jump them (unless you know of some super transfer?)?

: : Palisades will still be good. Someone besides Williams will have to learn to score - for that matter learn to take shots - but they still have talent.

: : My early prediction:

: : 1) Granada
: : 2) ECR
: : 3) Palisades
: : 4) Fairfax
: : 5) Narbonne

: : And this is all pure guess at this point until we see who actually is in school come September.

: Fax has their best player coming back, she will probably be city player of the year. They have the freshman that is a future d1 player and some good role players. They are clearly the fav.

It may turn out that way, but as of now, you can't say that.

First of all, who is coaching?

Lair is great, but part of what made her so great this year (and especially in the playoffs) was driving and dishing to Semebene. Or Semebene getting offensive board off a missed drive. She won't have her next year. Also, their top shooter graduated. The frosh may be a "future D1 player" but that isn't next year.

So while Fairfax may end up on top next March, hard to predict that now when other quality teams return most/all of their players.

And again, let's see who actually is in school next September and how much they have improved over the spring/summer.
