: : : : : : : : : : : CIF lets a School like Los Osos get a Major HS Transfer Player making their turning their mediocre team into one that does compete with Open Teams and let's them play Division 3 in the Playoffs and Division 4 in the State against much lower competition. Is this what CIF meant to do?
: : : : : : : : : : A child can't play with their mother?
: : : : : : : : : That wasn't the point! Teams that get a quality transfer shouldn't be allowed to play in a lower division.
: : : : : : : : Her quality daughter played D5 last year. She did move up...2 divisions!! whats your point?
: : : : : : : Buckner is a D1 player participating in D5 and D3 CIF playoffs against Teams that have none of these kinds of players. Her mother shops around for a school with an easy division so she can win a CIF and State Championship. Sad. Terrible. Everyone knows this especially those in Rancho Cucamonga.
: : : : : : Interesting theory, especially considering that divisions were not made public until October, about a month and a half after school started.
: : : : : Those same trio of freshman at Rolling Hills Prep are very skilled basketball players, but chose to go to a smaller program with an easy road to a state championship. A division 6 CIF championship and a possible division 5 state championship. They've beat almost all of their opponents by 30 plus points. How does this help these players get better? It doesn't. Go play against real completion and we will see if they still are winning.
: : : : FYI, Los Oso coach was the former coach at Rancho Cucamonga High School down the street. She has coached in one of the best Leagues in the nation. She did not shop Oso players were raided by Etiwanda High School every year. The coach has been there before were in her teams were put in the first or Open division when they should not have been. The Coaches daughter has worked hard all her life and plays multiple sports and this is a step up of 3 levels for her in this league. The other players live in the area and are Freshman and sophomores. So whats your point. She takes minim talent and has finished 2nd in the baseline league for over 10 years. This Lady can coach given that the players work hard and the parents let her.
: : : I'm pretty sure the three freshmen choose Rolling Hills for the education, not basketball. They wont be in Division 5 next year. It all works out. Same with Los Osos. They have been bad the last several years. They won't be in Division 4 next year.
: : Los Osos shouldn't be in Division 4 they are a good enough team to be in Division 2 they are beating up weak teams. Anyone could win with those girls in this Division including CIF D3 Buckner has always shopped around for an easy division she can win with her talented D1 daughter.
: There is no such thing as a totally fair system. Would people be complaining about Los Osos if they lost on Saturday? Needed a big comeback to win and Village was shorthanded without their top big girl. The coach's daughter didn't even have a good game. The freshman and sophomore guards won the game for Los Osos.
There was so much focus on Buckner that Osos younger players got a chance to score. I was there and saw it. It was two average teams playing in a lower division. Not good. Bad. Sad.
