: : : : : : : : : : Cynthia Cooper resigned from USC today, what y'all think about that? Too soon or long over due?

: : : : : : : : : :: I think now someone will come in and breath life back into the program. 4,5 - 6 recruits leaving over the past 3-4 years...you knew this was coming. Wonder who's gonna come in? Cheryl Miller maybe????

: : : :: Many girls opted to go out of state even, rather than play for USC. You could hear Cooper's foul mouth during the games close up - in front of visiting kids. If a girl's getting offered at USC - she's getting other offers? You missed the whole point. USC wasn't even on my daughter's list, because of the coach's reputation - and she had a dozen or more offers. She lost 6-7 recruits. You missed the whole point.

: : : : : : : : Need to find the right coach, not necessarily the "Big Name".

: : : : : : : : Need good, solid coach to build a culture and winning environment.

: : : : : : : : Don't need a big name to recruit to USC. It recruits itself.

: : : : : : : Deanna Calhoun, Destinie Gibbs, Drew Edelman, Mckenzie Calvert, Amy Okonkwo, Chyanne Butler and Kiki Alofaituli all left the program. Some went to other schools the others gave up the game. Arya Crook and Brianna Barrett never started or finished their senior years at USC, although both created their own problems.
: : : : : : : I agree it doesnt have to be a big name coach, but someone who has had a good system, at some prior college. No HS coach at this time.

: : : : : : : What a waste of 4 years this has been.

: : : : : : There are plenty of crappy Division One Coaches around. Just because you Coached D1 and had a winning season or two doesn't make you a good College Coach. Some of these women and men don't deserve to be coaching anymore. One mediocre season after another blaming it on injuries, etc. Just another excuse for poor performance.

: : : : : When my kid came out of high school I would not let her consider USC because of the coaching staff, now kids can stay home.

: : : : : You wouldn't let your daughter attend USC if she were offered a full ride? Isn't this ultimately about your kid getting a college degree that will lead to a good career? Or is it your wish for her to play basketball after college in a dying professional women's league making $35K a year? Athletic scholarships should be viewed as vehicles for getting a college education that one might not normally be able to afford. You go ahead and turn down a 4-year, $300,000 education at USC. I'm sure another equally talented athlete will be happy to take it.
: : Word is Taurausi plans to apply and build a "Uconn like" tradition" at SC. Actually I just made that up but what if?

: What about her asst beth burns

Burns has been a winner, however, she comes off as abrasive. She is a strong women and every AD has disliked her because she took no bull from anyone. She would be great but I don't think they would hire her.
