: : : : : State Regional Tournament teams announced. Thoughts?
: : : : : Division 3
: : : : : JSerra
: : : : : Righetti
: : : : : Division 4
: : : : : Pasadena
: : : : : Viewpoint
: : : : : Division 5
: : : : : Carnegie/Riverside
: : : : : Westridge
: : : : JSerra had an incredible post season run. They knocked off the #4 and #5 seed respectively. (Especially after only winning 4 games last year) Righetti got robbed. You can't have an off night in playoffs and expect to win games! Pasadena is a good team. They have size and some depth. I was sad to see their season end so soon. Thought they would have made it all the way to the finals.
: : : : I don't know much about the other teams, but congratulations to all who qualified!
: : : : Coach, is the announcement available somewhere to view?

: So how does a lower seeded team in playoffs get in over a higher seeded team? Do they just look at who they think will bring in more money?
Seeds are done by coaches. CIF pays no creedence to the coaches poll. CIF actually sits in a room and weighs in the following factors:
1. Strength of League
2. Strength of Schedule
3. Computer Ranking
4. How you are playing at the end of the season
I am sure you are talking about taking J Serra over Rowland. J Serra plays in the Trinity League. J Serra played a tough schedule and has a win over Open Watch list Orange Lutheran. Not even close. Rowland should have played someone. Not a quality win on their schedule. I applaud CIF for taking the better team, not the one with the gaudy record
