: : : : : : : : Please clarify what "Adidas Sponsored" means.

: : : : : : : : Does that mean the players selected for that team will have all of their expenses covered?

: : : : : : : : Or is it just uniforms/gear/shoes?

: : : : : : : : Or is it just being able to say you are a "sponsored" team?

: : : : : : : : New to this stuff so just looking for some guidance.

: : : : : : : : Thank you in advance.

: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Most Sponsored teams get free gear, shoes backpacks, wear ups etc... Also if you are a Sponsored team there are a few events that you must go to.

: : : : : : : With this team nothing is free you'll pay for everything, unless you are the select few that are friends and family
: : : : :

: : : : : Lol wow it never stops, adults smh

: : : : It's just branding. Rhythm is "sponsored" by UA now, but it just means everyone pays for UA stuff. Perhaps their top team doesn't have to pay, like other sponsored clubs we all know, but outside of being on the top level team, expect to pay your usual exorbitant club fees.

: : : wow!!! what about tvt in the valley with Adidas they're sponsored right?,and also cal storm with Nike right?

: : I don't think there are truly "sponsored" teams. Especially for girls.

: : I know for a fact that even people on Team Tarausi pay. And some pay more than others.

: : And only Tarausi is a "Nike Sponsored" team for Storm.

: : In fact, there are only 32 such teams in the entire country. There are four in So Cal (Storm Tarusi/WCP Black/Cal Sparks Gold/Cal Swish Black) and 1 in Nor Cal (Cal Stars). They are the ones who play in the Nike EYBL.

: : I think all these other teams with a "sponsor" are just either getting free or more likely reduced fee gear.

: Its not really sponsored if you're paying fees and dues. Some players do get take care of, but for the most part, everybody is paying in some capacity. Nike doesn't even sponsor their sponsored teams, they all have to pay their way into the tournaments and even have to pay for their gear (full price for top teams). Thats the biggest misconception about being sponsored and what that really means.

Being a sponsored team basically boils down to this:

*The teams get preferred admission to tournaments that are sponsored by that shoe manufacturer. They also are invited to some exclusive tournaments with other sponsored teams.

*The players on all of the teams get gear from that manufacturer. The lower teams will get less (2 basic uniforms, t-shirt, socks, basic shoes, and a bag. Maybe practice gear.). The top team will get the best gear (2 top tier uniforms, several t-shirts, several pairs of socks, headbands, several bags, and a couple of pairs of custom shoes that only top sponsored teams receive.)

The top players on the top team obviously aren't paying or are paying reduced fees. They are the main draw to the club and the reason people want to go play for that club. But the other players on the top team usually receive enough gear to where their fees are just basically buying gear. I call that a wash.

The bonus to playing on these teams is that your kid will get to travel around the country and get a better idea of how good they actually are, since they're not playing the same old competition. Downside is you as the parent are paying for all of the airfare and spending money for your kid.
