: : : : : : : : : : : : Julia Macabuhay is the best point guard in the San Gabriel Valley ! She is averaging 30 pts a game in the playoffs, and carrying an average team on her back ! She is coming off ACL suregery and shes better than ever ask Flintridge Prep !! She is dDivision 3A player of the year !!! Take that to the bank.

: : : : : : : : : : : Thanks Dad!!! Your the best!!!

: : : : : : : : : : Probably shouldn't insult people if you don't know this difference between your and you're* ^

: : : : : : : : : : On a brighter side, Macabuhay is a dominate guard. She has good handles, great court vision, and a intense competitiveness to her. I've watched her play since she was in 7th grade and even then, she was a dominate player sometimes playing against girls 2 or 3 grades older. I wonder how she would stack up against other dominate guards?

: : : : : : : : : will she win MVP of her league?

: : : : : : : : LOL!! So a guard that plays on a team that no one pays attention to is having a good year. But there are no stats to compare her to other guards just someone saying that she is averaging 30 points a game. Seems fishy. She did have 37 points against Flintridge Prep. Good for her, even an average player can have a great game or get hot. Plus, an average player would look great against horrible competition. Just look at who La Salle has played this season. "She has good handles and great court vision," so would anybody that plays a bunch of JV teams disguised varsity teams. La Salle has 9 losses to average teams or dare I say below average teams. That should answer your question on how she would do against other dominate guards or better teams. Just face it, she is a Division 2 guard at best and nothing to be raving about, unless you are her parents or her coach.

: : : : : : : Is this what you do with your free time? Come online and talk smack about a 16 year old? Lets face the pure hard facts, basketball is not what it used to be. So this type of "average" guard could be picked up to a low division one school or even maybe a higher division one school. I've seen kids with lesser talent go to big time colleges. Another note, you put her on any of the top teams in Orange County and surround her with other players, there is no doubt in my mind that she succeeds and elevates teams to a whole other level. Bottom line, don't talk smack about things you clearly have no idea about.

: : : : : : Well, I have an idea of what I'm talking about.

: : : : : : Playing against girls 2-3 grades older means little if the players aren't good.

: : : : : : I looked at La Salle's schedule. I can't really find a quality win or a game where they played incredibly well against a higher division team doing really well, so I can't see how they could beat a team like Los Osos, who went out and tested themselves in the preseason and then still had to face Etiwanda twice in league.

: : : : : : Kids go to D1 schools when the right combination of things happen to show their skills. Those kids with less talent that you mentioned have proven that they can be slightly above average against above superior competition. So I'm sorry...above average against below average competition probably wont cut it.

: : : : : : And I agree...there's no stats kept by the team on Maxpreps, so saying she's averaging 30 a game means nothing without facts to back it up.

: : : : : : So pure hard facts...if you don't want a kid torn apart on here, don't come here bragging about them unless they are the type of player that can't be slammed, which is basically no kid. And any player can look great when surrounded with superior talent. It's not really a great argument you're making here.

: : : : : She's at the wrong school if you ask me. Anywhere else, shed' be ranked or highly touted, but that aint gonna happen at La Salle. Hopefully Cal Storm will get her somewhere respectable. idk

: : : : Playoff points -- 24, 26, 37.... 87 = 29 ppg..... If she scores over 30 tonight, it will be an incredible achievement because knowing their coach, he will surely throw everything at her, even the kitchen sink....but she is a special talent so anything could happen...

: : : So how many points did she have last night?

: : Obviously not enough as her team lost by 6, but the reality is the kid, her family, and her coaches were not the ones who started the post and it is a pretty sad commentary when people take shots at a kid who is not boasting about herself but just trying to win games for her team. The least we can do is leave her alone.

: I find it hard to believe it's not a parent. No stats are posted, but the OP is aware of stats. Knowledge about what club the kid plays for... that's too much info.

: The kid would be left alone if the parents didn't go looking for validation of her skills. There are tons on talented kids that don't get talked about on here, and that's because the parents don't come here looking to prove that their kids are the best.

#10 is a fantastic player. One of the best PG's I've had to coach against. The game last night had an electric environment and is the reason why most of us coach high school athletics.

It was truly an honor coaching my team, having around 3-400 people there, who created a deafening gym and watched an exciting 32 minutes. We respected the talents of #10 and our team was fortunate enough to come away with the win, but anyone who was at the game would agree there weren't any losers.

Great job this season La Salle Lady Lancers and we look forward to competing against you down the road. DJ Hein - Lancaster Girls Head Coach
