: : So Windward played Orangewood Academy and barely won by 2? WTH? What happened? Orangewood is a good team but no where near the level of Windward. I thought Windward was supposed to be this great team. Osbourne only had 10 points? Osbourne goes from 39 points against Sierra Canyon to only score 10 points against Orangewood. WTH? Its obvious that Osbourne is not the best player in Southern California if she could only hang 10 points against Orangewood. I can't wait to hear the excuses from the Windward parents. We had an off night....oh the gym is funky... Maybe they should just say that Orangewood almost had their number. But they won't. Also Windward's win over Sierra Canyon took a hit with Sierra Canyon losing to Mission Hills tonight. Maybe both Windward and Sierra Canyon could be overrated. Kudos to Orangewood for almost pulling of the upset.
: Disclaimer - my kid does not go to Windward or Sierra Canyon. But we have played them.
: Wasn't at any of the games mentioned, but Windward and Sierra Canyon are the real deal.
: As for last night, Sierra Canyon played without their best player (Grigsby) who fractured her nose against Windward.
: Maybe Windward did have an off night. Osborne is one of the top players in the state. If you can't see that then that's on you. Maybe she had foul trouble? Maybe nicked up? I don't know. But you can't take a one game sample and make crazy claims like that.
: Maybe Orangewood had their best game and maybe Windward had a little let down after the big Sierra game. It happens.
He's the thing, the tough nose style the windward coach runs isn't the type of offense that is going to blow teams out very often. They like to muck up the game, play physical and more or less play half court ball. That style of ball gets them ready for the playoffs. They usually win the close 2-5 point games due to toughness and coaching, even when they aren't at their best. This team is built for grind it out playoff basketball.
