: : : :
: : : : They do have a storied program so here in July do they now have a varsity coach under contract?
: : : Storied program ? It opened in 2003. How does a 16 year old school become storied?
: : : They have narrowed it down. The final selections come in on Monday to meet with admin. Should have a hire by end of week.
: : Up until the last 4-5 years they were the 2nd team in the Trinity League. Rosary has passed them-but with the right hire there is no reason they can't be right there with Mater Dei and ahead of the rest of the pack in the Trinity League. They have a lot of advantages vs. both Rosary and SM-location, co-ed (vs. Rosary), facilities....just need the right coach.
: FYI - New AD and a new direction, here is the future at JSerra GBBall.
: https://franciscanathletics.com/sports/2018/11/7/womens-basketball-archives.aspx cut and paste
: AD was there for 10 years and the GBB program was 40-172 with three head coaches. No strong female coach will last there, S.D. was offered the job and she said "No Thank You"
: Coaches do your homework before accepting any coaching position at JSerra. JP was smart to leave based on this train wreck.
This is probably a more accurate portrayal of the current AD. He started out running a rec program and took it to NCAA DIII status. No scholarships. http://www.troubonline.com/chris-ledyard-athletic-director-of-the-year/ The school has only had sports teams since 2007.
Yes, the coaching search has taken too long-but the situation is still a good one for the right coach.
