: : : : : Looking for teams to play in our Inaugural Tip-Off Tournament. $450 fee. 4 games. Division 2A-5 teams. Contact Brad Willis at

: : : : So you are saying if a 2AA team or 1 that wants to play you won't take? What if the teams lost a lot last year and won't really be a 2AA or 1 team? Wheres the line here

: : : Typically, teams in 2AA or Division 1 are performing at a much higher level than the teams in lower divisions. We are branding the tournaments for teams at the "mid-tier" level so there are equitable games, a good competitive atmosphere and most importantly, we want all teams to have a chance to win games. There are always exceptions. If a team wants to enter from 2AA and would be equitable to lower division teams in competitiveness, we'll welcome them.

: : I understand that, but let's look at things from the other side. Division 1 team has had 3 great years. Lose everyone. Now they can't enter tournaments like this and play like competition even though they have a 1 next to their name. So the D1 team with D4 kids gets stuck playing only D1 teams because of tournaments like this, and lose by 50 per game. What happen to competing v good teams to get better. All about the cif points?

: Is there a school that is interested in coming to the VP tournament from 2AA or 1? They are welcome to inquire. And who is to say that I don't match up D2A-D5 teams in competitive matchups? All the teams that have participated in VP tournaments the past three years have gotten competitive games versus good opponents. And I hope the coaches say they have gotten better because of the experience.

You misunderstood what I wrote. I said the D1 team that has lost everyone wouldn't be allowed or even bother inquiring when you put parameters like this because they are "D1". So now the D1 school with d4 has to sign up for a tournament with all d1's and lose by 50 points a game because they are "d1". I am using an extreme example but if I didn't make this post, you wouldn't even respond or blindly say no to someone you felt was a level or 2 above you. As I said, it seems like its about CIF points and staying down in mediocrity as opposed to taking a shot and having 1 or 2 teams in it that would provide a high level of competition. To each their own.
