: : : : : : : : Congratulations to all girls that made the list this year and also their parents. You deserve to be recognize and we applaud you for your hard work and dedication.
: : : : : : : :Anyone knows how the selection process is done? How are the girls selected?
: : : : : : They're voted/selected by their Coach and HS Coaches in their divisions. Can't get more legit than that.
: : : : : What about 2nd team. Why is first team the only one published and why have a second team if not to recognize?
: : : : Go to SCIBCA for the second team.
: : : Why is it that Open has 11 All-Cif, plus 2 co-mvp 13 total. While the rest of divisions have 9+mvp. They could have move up couple more from 2nd team in the non Open divisions. Just my 2cents
: : I think they let open do whatever they want. They had more than everyone last year as well. As they should.
: There are players that are on the 2nd team that could easily be 1st ALL CIF from a talent standpoint but their teams were not as successful because they arenít surrounded by talented transfers or other equally talented players.
Then transfer otherwise it will be like that next year and the next. If she is talented as you say and practice and play with tier 2 players at lower divisions then she won't develop to her full potential.
Parents get caught up too much with the school's "prestige" reputation. But it's not the fact that she is attending that school that will get her full ride in college. It's her GPA, SAT and most importantly her game. You need to have all 3 to get recruited by very selective colleges.
You can have the GPA and SAt but without game you fall into that pool of straight A students that less than 10% get in and no scholarship.
You have to cover the grade-SAT requirements but it's your game that will get you full ride athletic scholarship. Don't lose sight of that.
