: Being in a tough league pays off. Trinity League teams Mater Dei and Rosary in Open. Santa Margarita and Orange Lutheran battle tested and advance to semis of their division. Gold Coast has Sierra Canyon and Windward in Open. Brentwood in semis along with Crossroads in their division. Lets not forget Roosevelt, King and Santiago from the Big 8.

LOL!! The only reason these leagues have multiple teams in the semifinals is because of competitive equality. Sure the Trinity and Gold Coast are the best but just think if Brentwood or Crossroads were up in Division 1 they wouldn't make it past the second round. As for the Big VIII, the equality is the only reason those teams are in the semifinals. That league as a whole will not win a CIF Championship this season. The whole Big VIII is the poster child for equality. A bunch of coaches that have never won a meaningful game in Division 1 or the Open Division. This is King's chance to prove me wrong but I know Martinez will choke against Poly. This is not the same Poly team of old but Poly will still beat King. Martinez will be outcoached again.

Any team that is having their best season on record should thank CIF for competitive equality because none of these teams would be in the position they are without the help from CIF. Just a bunch of 3rd and 4th place teams in divisions that can not play basketball but because of equality will win a championship.

Then, CIF has the nerve to wonder why attendance is down in all sports for championship weekend. It is plain and simple the product on display is horrible and can barely be tolerated. If anybody is willing to spend $15 to watch two teams that will not score more than 40 points in a CIF Finals you are the biggest sucker around. Just wasting your money on crap, rec league basketball. That is pretty much what CIF has turned girls basketball into a rec league where mediocre coaching and teams that can not score or run an offense get to hoist a banner and collect rings.
