: : : : : : : : : : : : : South Hiils with a 22 point lead in the 3rd quarter over California Academy of Math & Science and loses 57-55, what happened???
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : Duh we lost thats what happened.
: : : : : : : : : : : :SH missed their shots while CAMS made theirs till the score reads 57-55.
: : : : : : Let me guess, this post is from someone who has never coached basketball. There must be a ton of lousy coaches then because many of us have been in that position. It's called high school basketball. Quit bashing coaches. We all do this for the kids. It still amazes me how parents bash people who work 365 days a year for maybe 3k plus the hundreds to thousands we put in of our own money. Unless we coach for an elite private school who gets the elite players ( and elite salaries compared to public school coaches) we will all have games like this.
: : : : : : : : : : Starting Point guard didnt play whole second half, shooter was hurting and their other guard/forward got into foul trouble... still early.
: : : : : : : : : In other words excuses, excuses, excuses. A team blows a 22-point lead it falls onto one person and that is the coach. I thought the South Hills coach was supposed to be a great coach. That he can walk on water and everything. Yeah it might be early in the season but I would be worried and upset if I was a South Hills parent.
: : : : : : : : Coach didn't make any turnover, didn't miss any shots and didn't let his girl score! South Hills like most teams have unfundamental players and the best coach in the world wouldn't make much of a difference. High Schools get more than what they paid for a Coach. 3-4 Thousand dollars for the entire year. Could make more Officiating or working at McDonalds.
: : : : : : : Way to go throwing teenage kids under the bus. Yup the coach can't shoot the ball or do anything but coach. When your team is up by 22 points and you lose, then that means an adjustment needed to be done. A timeout to calm things down. A good coach should be able to read what is going on and make an adjustment or change something to prevent blowing a lead. But you are saying that the kids are not fundamentally sound then that means it goes back to the coach for not spending all offseason developing his players. But its not the coaches fault that his team lost. Maybe the South Hills coach should go work for McDonald's since they can't hack it as a basketball coach.
: : : : : What if the coach called 2 or 3 timeouts, made an adjustment that didnt work because the girls missed the open shots, and took out a player who was rattled only to have another player make the same mistakes.
: : : : Heard he missed a bunch of practices and games this summer, during the time to develop skills due to his other basketball work.
: : : Cormier is a talker but not a very good coach and, quite frankly, is lazy.
: : Please do not try to disparge our coach with rhetoric of "what you heard". Our coach is the fantastic person we have entrusted with our daughters care. If you do not like him do not send your daughter to South Hills other than that keep your comments to yourself. In the meantime we are preparing to defend our Palamores League Title, and make our school community proud.
: We should all be so lucky to be not very "good and lazy". With the Late Legendary Coach Hurt at Serra High helped win 3 CIF Titles and 1 State Title. St. Bernards High in 1996 CIF Title. Crossroads in 2008 CIF Title. La Salle High School heard of them lately? No guess what he is not there. South Hills after one year League Champs, so lets all buy in to his lazy.
As a devoted SGV Girls Basketball fan by these are the numbers for Cormier as a Head Coach to this date.
151 - 70
So it stands to reason he is a well above average coach.
