: : : : I was told by a private school that I could not film my favorite player. Had to leave. It's interesting how these schools appear to be only as good as their next melanated player but oppose Popscout - a black media outlet - from creating some buzz. So our next feature will be about the black athlete and how - although on paper coaches may get the credit, would you truly be that great without these studs and studmuffins? Of course not who you think you fooling.
: : : : Thanks for opening up that pandora's box.

: : : We all appreciate everything you cover. One school does not count for all. That was crappy of them and I would send a complaint to their admin but I know 99.9 percent of all schools let media in like yourself and do everything they can to make sure you are comfortable. Keep up the good work and covering the sport for our girls. Much appreciated

: : Thanks for all you do for girls basketball. I am sorry you have to deal with this crap.
: : Sadly you have now met west coast liberal academic leadership who believe everyone who isnít one of them is too stupid to make good decisions so for our own good they will tell us what to do. By doing your own thing you threaten them.

: Maybe because it's playoff time and that PS want to limit game films from circulating for others to scout their games? Some coaches even go as far as not posting their roster info to limit the number of info they give out.

: I like what you do Pop but you have to deal with that chip on your shoulder. It's not always because about the color of our skin.

It could completely be because schools don't want their games filmed by unofficial outlets.

As an example, the Mission League, at least on the boys side, has a strict rule about sharing film of any of their league games with other schools.

And while you can provide a nice service to the kids and sometimes the school re: publicity, you are not a credentialed media organization. And while anyone can go sit in the stands and pull out a video camera and record, you are using professional equipment and set up on the baselines and the sidelines.

Maybe work on getting a CIF media pass (may need a separate one for City too). At that point, your access should be increased.
