: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Chaminade -2 on the road at HW. HW is back at full strength. League Records: Chaminade 6-0 vs HW 5-1.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Cent -2 at home vs King. King won at home in league matchup#1 60-48 on 1/10. League Records: King 8-0, Cent 7-1. King win could send them to OPEN.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Looking for some buzzer beater finishes tonight.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 2 great games. Nade +8 and Cent.+ 5

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Nade to Open if they win tonight and Thursday against Alemany. What to do? Share the league title and remain in CIF Div 1 or not share the league title then move up to Open to face Sierra in the 1st round. Tough position to be in. My guess??? Share title with Alemany, lol

: : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Gonna be hard for Chaminade to get in even with a perfect Mission League season.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Sierra Canyon
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Etiwanda
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Bishop Montgomery
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Windward
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Mater Dei
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Redondo

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Last two from King, Rosary, Troy and Serra

: : : : : : : : : : : : : I agree Chaminade won't make open, Mission league had a big drop this year and Alemany,and HW not playing well.

: : : : : : : : : : : : Rosary definitely going to be in the Open. Final 8th spot should go to King or Chaminade.

: : : : : : : : : : : Nade took a dive, lol

: : : : : : : : : : King beat Cent. King to the open?

: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : Chaminade's loss eliminates them.

: : : : : : : : : I think the last two spots now come down to Rosary, King, and Serra.

: : : : : : : : : I am pretty confident Rosary is in, which leaves King and Serra for last spot, with the other one being No 1 seed in Div 1, with Chaminade the No 2 seed.

: : : : : : : : HW has had an overall better season then Chaminade and with the co-league champ, they would be ranked higher come playoffs.

: : : : : : : Maybe true but HW won by lucky buckets in the last minute of the game whereas Nade destroyed HW on their lost.

: : : : : : "Lucky Buckets". Watch any full length game, there are always buckets here and there that "bank" in. Sometimes even half court buzzer beater points then you see the game going down the wire where those "lucky" points are needed. 1st match up - HW was missing their guard and 2nd leading scorer and as a team without depth, that really hurt. They were in the game for most of it, then go run over at the end. Both teams are solid right now, but facts are facts, HW played much better 1st half the season than Cham.

: : : : : No dog in this race, but I was at the first game, and it was close for a half, but Chaminade blew them away in the third quarter.

: : : : : And yes, HW was playing better early in the season, but Chaminade has come on in the second half.

: : : : : As for who gets the higher seed, it will depend on league tie breakers. Because even if they tie for championship, the league has a way to determine who goes into playoffs as the league champ. That team will be seeded higher.

: : : : : Both of them will be tough outs in the playoffs.

: : : : Is there a league playoff for Mission top 2?

: : : How many teams in the Mission league makes playoffs
: : Chaminade only won first game because hw guard was missing. Changes whole game offensively and more importantly defensively. Too many loses to average teams for both hw and chaminade. King deserves open because they ionly lost the one game (to average jw north). But they will lose by 25 to sierra and then get rocked by next opponent to. Never played once against a top open team. Different world. Congrats to them though for great season. Actually think d1 playoffs wide open. Will be great. Open is done. No one beating sierra. But you never know about injuries...

:
: 1. Obviously, having the PG back was huge for HW. In the first game, no one could get the ball into the big girl where she wanted it and she had to get out of her comfort zone. That being said, that doesn't account for a 40 point swing. Other factors, such as transfer girl being more acclimated to team, home court, other adjustments all came into play.

: 2. I would give last Open spot to Serra, who played a much tougher schedule than King. But I think King gets it. Open is set up as pool play this year, so in addition to Sierra Canyon, the 8th seed will have to play either Windward/Bishop Montgomery and Mater Dei. That will not be fun for anyone.

: 3. I don't believe it's an easy walk for Sierra Canyon. I still have Bishop Montgomery giving them problems. I think their guards are slightly better, and SC doesn't have anyone as physical as Pepe. I also think Etiwanda can give them problems with their speed and athleticism. The third guard for Sierra (#0) will not have all the open looks she usually gets. And she will struggle defensively against them. That being said, Sierra is the smarter team and would also have the in-game coaching edge. These are the match ups I am most looking forward to.

: 4. D1 is again going to be a fun division. King/Serra, Chaminade, Harvard Westlake, Camarillo, etc. are all solid teams without being significantly dominant. Should be a lot of close, entertaining games (especially past the first round).

Harvard Westlake PG is no Jordyn Canada , chaminade missed most of their shots and chaminade had many chances to win the game and I do give credit to HW for keeping the game close and hit clutch shots at the end and it was a fun game to watch. Good luck to both teams in D1 playoffs.
