: : : : : : : : : Word on the street is the some Baseline AD's are going to appeal to the Mt. Sac area that St. Lucy's be moved to a different league as they cannot compete and it serves St. Lucy's no purpose and serves the other teams in the league no purpose. Illustration of this fact was St. Lucy's recent lose 84 to 4 to Etiwanda.
: : : : : : : : Call of the dogs Stan 84-4 jeez
: : : : : : : I wasn't at the game. But I know Stan pretty well. I think he probably did call off the dogs. Go back and look at some of the other league scores. I'm sure this could have easily been one of those 120-0 games had they wanted.
: : : : : : : Re-leaguing discussions have begun. I'm sure this will come up.
: : : : : : Truth of the matter is without the mens sports, there would be no girls sports. If the girls teams did not steal money from the mens team, they would not exist. Look at the stands. Barely anyone except for rare few. This is why the girls teams now play before the mens team, to take 1/2 the money. Truth hurts most. That is the bottom line.
: : : : : LOL!
: : : : : It's funny that you think gate receipts fund sports. It's also funny that you think that outside attendance should be the deciding factor regarding the existence of a high school sports team. Cluelessly missing the point of high school sports.
: : : : All the money from ticket sales goes to ASB not the teams. At least until CIF then most of the money goes to CIF
: : : Maybe taking a look at Etiwanda to go to another league they have had no competition for the last eight years. Etiwanda not only destroys St lucy's but every other team in baseline league.
: : There is no other feasible league, travel wise, that Etiwanda could move too.
: : Which goes back to why Damien and St Lucy's sued CIF and won, the distance proposed by placing them in a league with St. Bonaventure Ventura, Mary Star San Pedro, St. Monica's in Santa Monica was an impossible situation travel wise.
: : The baseline league is fine with the current teams with the exception of St. Lucy's which has fallen to under 500 students in population. All the other teams, except Damien are easily 2500+ students. (Damien has close to 1000 students, double what St. Lucy's has)
: St. Lucy could easily be placed in a league with Alverno, San Gabriel Mission, Sacred Heart, Ramona Convent, Bishop Conaty, and Holy Family. They are that bad and those schools are within driving distance. They also aren't that far from the teams in the league that has Mayfield, Pasadena Poly, ...schools like that. There are leagues for them with like schools that aren't that far a way.
Absolutely but the Mt. Sac Alignment area won't let them go, they have some animosity towards the two schools and would rather punish the kids than place them accordingly.
Damien could probably stay in the Baseline, but there is no reason St. Lucy's should stay. It is a travesty for all parties involved.
