: : : : : : I Read Chaminade played a great game vs Sierra Canyon on Saturday. Anybody saw the game and have a take on the game?

: : : : : Mission League Top teams: Alemany playing exceptional at beginning of season and Chaminade playing horrible and now the teams completely flip flop. Will Chaminade go undefeated in league ???

: : : : Very even game with Chaminade in the lead through much of the middle of the game. Some costly turnovers and Sierra rebounding allowed them back in the game. In the end Sierra depth and experience were the difference. Chaminade is real though and gave them a good, solid game and could have pulled it off.

: : : : For Chaminade: Junior Alexis Whitfield was very tough with hard aggressive drives to the basket. Great handles for 6’2”, she’s a baller. Junior Jasmine Rodriguez shot well from outside. And Leslie Hunter showed a very quick first step to penetrate for buckets.
: : : : For Sierra Canyon: Always impressive Jr. Ashley Chevelier penetrated and kicked for assists, also picked up some points from the outside. Junior Vanessa De Jesus struggled with her outside shooting, but contributed nonetheless. Junior Alexis Mark was impressive around the boards.

: : : If you're interested, here is some video from the Sierra Canyon-Chaminade game.
: : :

: : Alot of highlights from Sierra Canyon's defense creating run outs and also a lot of hustle O boards for put backs. Chaminade great strategy as I noticed they attacked SC's weakest defender when she was in the game and when she was on the bench, they went to a single high screen alot to give their guards a chance vs SC's tough defense. SC opened that double digit lead, but couldn't put them away as Chaminade showed a lot of heart coming back to make it close again.

: : I think this game along with winning league would secure them an OPEN spot and 1st round re-match with SC.

: No doubt Chaminade is playing really well right now. And I think running the table in the Mission League puts them on the bubble. But they have 9 losses including to Saugus. I think they could more likely be the 1 seed in Div 1 again like last year.

: However, the committee may put them in because of their name and past success, in a sense punishing them with a first round game vs. Sierra Canyon on the road.

: And of course, any loss at this point would keep them out for sure.

I am sure that the #1 ranked Sierra Canyon girls team would love to play Chaminade again. It seems to me that although Chaminade gave them a game, they caught them on an off night.
