Mater Dei (20-2) won its 86th consecutive Trinity League game, outscoring Rosary Academy (15-5) by an 11-4 margin in the final three minutes to break a 55-55 tie Thursday at Mater Dei.
Sophomore forward Brooke Demetre led Mater Dei with 22 points, with sophomore guard Alyssa Frescas adding 15 points for the Monarchs, who gained the momentum with an 11-0 run during a five-minute stretch spanning the third and fourth quarters.
Junior forward DeJanae Perry contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds, with senior guard Cailyn Crocker scoring 10 points for Mater Dei, which won its 27th in a row against Rosary since 2006.
Kate Goostrey led the Royals with 17 points and fellow junior guard Asia Avinger added 16 points and nine rebounds for Rosary, which led 29-18 with two minutes left in the first half.
Nicole Rodriguez scored 11 points and fellow junior Caylee Santos added eight points for Rosary, which had its final advantage at 52-51 with four minutes remaining.
