: Can someone please tell me why Orangewood Academy is still in the top 10? They havenít beaten anyone.... also, they are ranked way lower in the state of California and nationally on MaxPreps (183 & 1739) as opposed to other teams who are not in the top 10. Iím truly interested in hearing the logic/insight some of you might have! is called Strength of Schedule. Orangewood has played one of the toughest schedules around. So some people give Orangewood some respect for doing so. Also, Orangewood has 3 significant injuries this season. So the Orangewood coach scheduled aggressively and now that their post and two guards are out for the year they are not the same team has originally predicted. Just picture any team missing 3 starters for the year and tell me how they would do.

I give Orangewood a lot of credit because they still are playing a tough schedule and in some of these games they are still competitive despite losing. Why not question why a team like Fairmont Prep is still ranked highly even though they are below .500 and could possibly enter the playoffs with a below .500 record. Or why certain teams in Orange County always duck competition and refuse to play other teams. By the way, Mater Dei is not the only Orange County team afraid to play someone good.
