: : Not trying to start anything, but I'm ready to call my SS Open Division shot.
: : There's a long way to go, but after seeing most of the top teams play multiple times so far, my prediction for SS Open is:
: : Sierra Canyon, Windward, Bishop Montgomery, Etiwanda.
: : Draw a hard line under that. Those are the top four teams and it isn't close. Teams 5-8 will just be a warm up game for these four.
: : Obviously, on any given night anything can happen, but barring injuries or just a really off night, the only teams beating these teams are each other.
: : Earlier, I thought Mater Dei might be there, but after more cupcake scheduling, I can't put them up in the top 4. Alemany doesn't have enough. Same with Troy, Redondo, Keppel, etc. They are good, but not at the same level as those four.
: : The Sierra Canyon vs. Windward game is set up to be awesome. Osbourne vs. DeJesus is a great match up. Nygaard vs. Komaki is always interesting. Hope they stream the game as the gym isn't that big.
: : The winner of that game probably gets top seed, which means you probably miss Bishop Montgomery until the finals. Padilla and Williams are the best guard duo in the State. BM was good before but are at another level now that Pepe can play. And Quinn is getting better in the coaching seat too.
: : Etiwanda is crazy athletic. Their style of play is high risk, high return. If you can handle the pressure, you can probably win. If the refs let them play unchecked, you probably lose. And they have the most polarizing coach around!
: : The Open semi's and final are going to be really good!
: FYI the open is going to be pool play.
Games have to be played on the court and anybody can lose at any given time but these are definitely the best 4 teams this year and it really isnít close.
