: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Anybody know did MD ask to be placed on the B-List Bracket?

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : That's being smart!

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : How in the last two years are you not in the top division? And how is that being smart? More like understanding you donít have a top bracket level team. You have Redondo Union in the same bracket which most likely they asked to be moved up lol. Mater Dei IS OFFICIALLY OVERRATED smh

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Don't they have D1 players to compete?

: : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : That bracket MD is in has St Mary, Sacramento and other top Teams. They just split them in 2 divisions to accommodate scheduling given the number of days available for the tournament.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : Why is MD being singled out? Where's Bishop or Sierra, why are they not in this tournament? Atleast MD signed up.

: : : : : : : : : : : : Mater Dei parents/players/coaches singles themselves out by always saying they are a National level program when those days left with KLS. Using other teams to strengthen your argument is weak. MD going to the top two tournament and playing in lower division is like going to the prom with prettiest girl in the school and leaving with your step cousin lol. St. Maryís is a not the same team as years past, I think MD spanked them by 40 a couple months back lol Sad how things have changed for MD.

: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : "leaving with your step cousin" Dude...this is not
: : : : : : : : : : : Arkansas....lmao....

: : : : : : : : : : Don't use analogies that fail at witicism and make you sound even less intelligent.

: : : : : : : : : I think witicism is spelled witticism...hmmm..can we spell ironic

: : : : : : : : MD likes to schedule weak tournaments and weak opponents and then celebrate like theyíve won the world championship when they win by 40 or 50. They way their bench acts when they are up by 40 is embarrassing.

: : : : : : : Do you hear yourself? You are mad at a bunch of teenage girls for celebrating themselves and their team for winning. When they are up by 40 that means the girls who never play are probably in which also means thatís the first string cheering for their teammates as much as the scrubs do for them. I hate people like you smh

: : : : : : Well your research should tell you that their best players i.e Demetre, Torbert last couple years to pad there stats in blowouts so please recheck your facts. Thatís how they get weak league mvp and other awards.

: : : : : Watch Demetre and Torbert have the biggest attitudes if they were not the top two scorers of the game and than watch Kiernan give them more minutes to reward their shameful acts. Thatís why people canít stand MD cause itís all fake.

: : : : Come on, MD is just another team of kids playing basketball. Theyíre nothing special other than they do work hard. They cheer their teammates. They win. They lose. Relax. Theyíre teenagers.

: : : Mater Dei gets no choice in what Division they are put in the Nike Tourney. The Committee felt they weren't in the top 16 teams so they were placed in the next division.

: : I like the Mater Dei's, Bishop, Sierra Canyon, Windward. I think powerhouse schools are great options and I'm glad they do well. They sustain year after year and have great traditions. I'm a fan and supporter. Not everyone is a hater and jealous and critical like some other posts. If I want to bash programs/schools it would be the likes of Ribet / Oaks Christian are great and gone, constant coaching changes, players shuffling in and most recently out. Can't stand those as those are "fake" to me.

: Quotes by Clay Kallum who writes for Maxpreps....
: "Dealing with elite teams is always much more difficult than dealing with ordinary teams ... there's a lot more ego involved and a lot more pressure (parental mainly) on the coaches.

: So yes, teams will make requests about brackets and it's a balancing act for tournament directors. You want the elite programs to participate and maybe they're down a little this year but they'll be great next year, so you make some adjustments.

: My guess is none of the three teams you mentioned wanted to be in the top bracket (which is no longer the Joe Smith bracket, by the way), nor did they demand it."

I am guessing most are talking about how the adults holding the teenagers accountable when showing outward negative actions is lacking. Very visible in a high profile program like MD, when you are winning it works but losing brings out the flaws.
