: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Anyone know the final?

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Alemany played their worst Game of the season but found a way to win by 2. Low score Game 36-34

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Where are these games being payed?

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Sierra Canyon at Sierra canyon invitational.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : I'm surprised ECR was winning this game throughout, not sure to give major props to Alemany for playing pourly but finding a way to win or probably this is their trap game as they were looking ahead to SC game and this one didn't have the attention energy mental prep required.

: : : : : : : : : : : : Props to ECR for playing a tough pre-league season (Harvard Westlake, Sierra Canyon, Alemany, Serra, etc.) knowing their best player wouldn't be able to play until January. Time will tell if it helps or hurts them in the long run. It would have been easy to schedule a bunch of cupcakes and pile up wins.

: : : : : : : : : : : This is so true, bunch of teams out there with 1 or 0 losses but if you look deep into their schedules you'll see that they have played bunch of rec level teams. None at the level of ElCo's schedule. They will be exposed.

: : : : : : : : : : : ECR transfer not playing HS Ball. Schooly in hand, just going to train on her own. Why play meaningless ball for a school you have no ties to and risk injury.

: : : : : : : : : Do you guys like Maxpreps Strength of Schedule rating that they use? I feel like it needs some more tweaks to be "more correct". It's definitely better than nothing and not useless in my opinion.

: : : : : : : : To me the biggest problem with it is teams are "ranked" going in so there is a bias built in from the beginning.

: : : : : : : : There should be no rankings until Jan 1. By then you could go off pure numbers if you did the coding correctly.

: : : : : : : Nade by 7 over to #1 according to MaxPreps,lol

: : : : : : : Slowly but surely cherry pickers are getting exposed.

: : : : : : Chaminade a D1 school should beat a 3AA school. Nobody exposed, Brentwood has played teams either in the same division or higher. They didn’t claim to be number 1 that’s more a flaw of Max Preps not Brentwood. Exposure is Chaminade getting waxed by Granada Hills by 27 points and Harvard Westlake with the “best player” in SFV getting beat by 15 to Brentwood, that’s getting exposed!

: : : : : Have to agree ^ that comment is right on. Chaminade SHOULD have won. Never once heard Brentwood on this forum touting that they were #1, there was no chest thumping, so it is for sure a maxpreps flaw giving undefeated teams more weight then say Head to Head or common opponents or even strength of schedule. They need a tweak it a little.

: : : : : Nade getting WAXED by a CITY team was pretty bad!!!!!

: : : : It's going to be like that for a while. Nade is cutting back on athletic spending, most of the cuts will be on the girls side. They have a proven coach but if they won't give her the support she needs then how is she going to compete against the likes of Sierra Canyon and Mater Dei of the Open divisions. She can only do so much.

: : : This has been the trend the last few years there. There are only two players on that team that get minutes a couple of seasons ago.

: : : They are still a good D1 team, but the Open days may be over for a while.

: : : Especially with Sierra Canyon, Alemany, and even Viewpoint giving out tons of aid.

: : Don't know if Viewpoint is spending on winning vs friends lol. Shaq Fu gotta chop in some more $ for the Crossroads boys and girls programs to get them both into the OPEN. For the kids Shaq'a'lac.

: The above statement is right on. Yes, private schools "buy" the best players. Don't blame the kids for going to these schools with lower class sizes, better perks, shiny gyms etc. But for ANY city school to be able to even compete with these privates is a job well done. City schools have to depend on developing what they have vs private that get to "buy" already developed players. Very unloved playing field.

Guess what? You are wrong (-:

HS don't developed players, its their clubball which is year round for youth, person trainers and most of all, Dads and and siblings they grew up with that spent hundreds of hours at local parks. And some kids just grew up playing ball at local parks after school. HS coaches get the players at the end.
