: : : The bigger problem is parents who don't know their role, support your child and the life lessons she should be learning and not bashing the coach If you are so qualified, apply for the job the next time it comes open and lets see how many hours you're willing to put in during 12 months for a $3500 stipend. Let's see, $300 a month, $75 dollars a week....barely fills the gas tank!!!! I'm sure if the others players can shoot efficiently and actually help the coach wants to win and would let them shoot, but remember, 10 players and only 1 ball, at every single moment, 9 others are doing something besides shooting!!!!!

: : : Sincerely yours,

: : : Just Another Old Head

: : I think probably what you are seeing is players who are not used to playing organized basketball so they go through the motions and run the play all the way through without much understanding of what they are doing and why, and they don't know how to get their shot in the halfcourt without resorting to 1v1 play. Unfortunately, this is what we get when we allow kids to play rec-level ball throughout their youth and high school career without ever holding them accountable to playing a team game. Geno from UConn has commented about this many times.

: We see with our own eyes and don't need your interpretation...thanks anyway. It's puppetball and its been going on for years. Coaches who feel as though they need to micromanage every aspect of the game. Let the players have fun and contribute and sit your ass down.

Perhaps you should have your daughter stick with her Park and rec ball or continue playing with her low level JV club team. That way she can shoot all she wants and have fun, and maybe just maybe team mom brings some yummy snacks. Now if your daughter plays for a really bad team then I agree with your point, every play and have fun. But if you and your daughter are not happy with her role, perhaps she should invest more energy getting better!!!
