: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Granada is by far the best team in City this year. Debate me if you don't agree.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :Are they a better team than last year? If not, then they might be in trouble because ElCo has a stud transfer from Nade.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The stud transfer isn't better than Fisher. Plus they have a lot less overall than last year (ECR). Granada.. Yes, they lost Mitchell and Miranda BUT they still have their shooter and big girl plus their point guard can do a little bit of everything and they have solid role players. They also play faster and can score at will. No one in the City has that... Now, do not come at me and say Fairfax... They lost their team last year when the PG graduated. They have the lefty but she isn't enough. Bonne got transfers but that still will not be enough. Bonne wont be able to score enough points.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Next
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Granada is for sure the best team in the city. They are not quite as good as last year, but close. The El Camino transfer is not nearly the stud that somebody is trying to make her out to be.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Thank you. Don't get me wrong.. she is a good player BUT don't say she is gonna get ECR over the hump. She will make them a top City team but the best City team? no

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : How did Granada do vs Long beach poly and Mater Dei on Saturday?

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : They didn't play them this weekend BUT that's not the point. At least they are going out to play the top teams. City teams wouldn't do that because they know they would get blown out. At least Granada can put up a fight against top SS teams.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : We are just talking about them winning City not the National Championship

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : also...I don't want posters coming into this debate saying "City section is terrible. SS is soo much better" We get it. SS gets the top kids because they can recruit and are nicer schools. So, I will just shut that down real quick.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Let's take a SoCal point of view.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Past few years, my locked in top 4 would be:

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Windward
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Sierra Canyon
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Mater Dei
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Bishop Montgomery

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Granada to me is in the conversation of 5-16

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ok. Some of you people can’t read. This isn’t a SS discussion. We are talking about City. Didn’t Granada beat Bishop Montogomery in State Playoffs last year? Oh they did

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Granada looks better than a lot of teams at this time of year. That is because most of them have played together over the summer and their coach has them practicing two hours a day everyday since the beginning of August. Other teams haven't even started practicing yet. Lets see where they are at in December.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Don't forget that they beat Sierra at Burroughs by 10. Don't say that's Fall League, I will just shut that down real quick.

: : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : Let’s think here.. ok, they have been practicing since August and most teams haven’t practiced yet.. “let’s see where they are in December” we’ll, if still keep practicing won’t they still be better than everyone else?

: : : : : : : : : : : : : Also to “parent” don’t be stealing my “ shut that down real quick” line. Thank you.

: : : : : : : : : : : : :Same ol Granada folks, all excited preseason then choke post season, lol

: : : : : : : : : : : How is getting to the Socal regional Final 4 choking? How is beating Bishop Montgomery when they were the number 1 team in Socal choking

: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : This year's winner of the AV Memorial "We're the Greatest" Award is....

: : : : : : : : : : First it was the Antelope Valley people a couple of years ago. Last year it was Ribet. And now this year....sheesh.

: : : : : : : : : : How about we wait until some actual games are played?????

: : : : : : : : : Just wait for January 5th round 2!!!

: : : : : : : : Oh we will wait! It’s on! City vs SS. Players that are recruited vs kids that just show up.

: : : : : : : ^^^ this so true though. Such a joke that people on here try to compare. Private schools that can recruit ANY player they want vs schools that just have what they have, need to work extra hard and if they are so lucky to get a decent player, look out because SS is coming to steal them by next season.

: : : : : : January 5th is a private viewing for Sierra Canyon and local private schools to check out Granadas new players. LOL!!!

: : : : : : Power house like Sierra, Windward and Mater Dei don't need to recruit. If you got game then 99% of the time you are coming out of AAU program prior to high school.

: : : : : Which means your parents know what's available for you out there based on your game and academic standing. And like most parents, they will seek the best academic program and athletic program that's available out there. To develop their kids to their full potential for the next level - college ball. There more informations readily available to parents now a days with internet and AAU programs. They see top players ahead of their kids at AAU to which HS they go, their development and then to D1 colleges. They don't need to be recruited, parents know the game.

: : : : : And as far as city teams not reaching out to players, they do. They just don't have the same items to offer as some of these private schools.

: : : : : If you don't think that, then you are either on denial or just naive.

: : : : Yep, everything you say is true, but you're saying exactly what the other poster is saying. Yes, the private schools recruit and yes the good athletes leave the public schools to go to the private school because they have more to offer. And THAT is exactly why nobody should try to compare city vs SS. Of course SS has better athletes. So why do people come on here trying to act like it is an even playing field. SS should ALWAYS blow out the city schools, SS has the cream of the crop. So if there happens to be a City school that can compete with some of these SS schools, people should not be so quick to tear apart the city team, how about giving props to some of these kids/coaches for working hard as a team to be able to even compete against SS teams.

: : : : As far as the statement about city teams reaching out to players just like the private schools, UH, why even mention it. It means nothing, zero. Reaching out with nothing to offer means nothing. NO kid ever said "hey, yes, let me go to that amazing city school with 40 kids per class, outdated equipment and that ratchet dirty gym to go play on that team with little talent because all the great players went to private school". Who cares if they reach out, they ain't getting the kids, meaningless point!

: : : Top programs don't need to recruit, players/parents flock to these schools to get the best of both worlds - academic and athletic programs.

: : I don't think they "flock", I think they go negotiate with many of the private schools and then make a decision. Nobody has mentioned the Finances. The more athletically talented and touted you are the better financial offer you will receive. Late bloomers have to start off at a public school first.

: "The more athletically talented and touted you are the better financial offer you will receive.". It's their dinero, what do you expect? Don't hate the player.

Please stop talking about BM their point guard was hurt even playing hurt it was difficult for you to beat them and at Ribet we exposed your point guards and our Biggs pretty much owned the paint
