: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Now that the season is a little over a month away what are the top team to look at to be in the open division?

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 1. Narbonne
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 2. Granada
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 3. Westchester
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 4. El camino
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 5. Carson
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 6. Hamilton
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 7. Legacy
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 9. Eagle rock
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 10.Birmigham

: : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : 1. Granada Hills
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : 2. Narbonne
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : 3. El Camino
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : 4. Westchester
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : 5. Fairfax
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : 6. Carson
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : 7. Birmingham
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : 8. Legacy

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Love them or hate them, Granada puts in the work. They play together pretty much year around. People buy in to their roles. They have the best big and the best shooter. They are playing tough comp in summer/fall. This weekend they are playing in a showcase and are playing Long Beach Poly and Mater Dei. No other city teams are trying this hard.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : That being said, I think Narbonne can give them (and everyone) problems with their pressure and athleticism. And that has been Granada's weakness - and that was with Mitchell. So they are even more vulnerable now.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : At this point, I would expect the finals to come down to them.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : To me the wild card is ECR. They are going to take their lumps in the preseason for sure. But come the new year when the transfer from Chaminade is eligible, look out. She will be the best player in the Section. If they can effectively work her in and maximize her abilities, they have a shot.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Westchester, Fairfax and Carson all have some nice pieces, but I don't think they have the depth of talent to challenge the other three.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Kind of the opposite with Birmingham and Legacy; I see them as having good players, but not enough "very good" players.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Eagle Rock lost too much, and though I keep hearing about Hamilton, until they beat someone good, I'm not a believer.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Here is to a fun season with no injuries!

: : : : : : : : : : : : : Any success stories from "really good-College level players" work out better for the player from transferring WAY DOWN from SOLID girls programs like Chaminade to suspect public programs like ECR? Why would such a player do so?

: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : HAMILTON has the Talent to compete in the city open the coach is to scared to play competition. But talent-wise they might be better then Fairfax and Carson

: : : : : : : : : : : Who transfer out of Chaminade?

: : : : : : : : : : : You know, that girl who dropped 25 on your girl, bwahahaha

: : : : : : : : : ?
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : Has anyone seen Fairfax play? I lnow they lost 90% of thre scoring and only returning thier 2 young guards. Plus Judi retired from AD. Is the feeder well ilsrill open for that program? Garfield might be another team to watch for.

: : : : : : : Isn't the ELCO transfer already eligible? She sat out some of last season.

: : : : : : Second transfer. Already used SOP. Have to sit a year.

: : : : : https://www.cif-la.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=56396&type=d&pREC_ID=768083

: : : : : Looks like CIF approved transfer

: : : :
: : : : Of course, unlike the SS CIF site, they City one doesn't tell you when they are actually eligible and for which sports, etc.

: : : : It only shows you when the transfer was approved.

: : : : But this is her second transfer and she used her SOP when she went from Alemany to Chaminade, so she has to sit for one year (Dec - Dec).

: : : change of address there is no sit out. First transfer was change of address

: : What about Ribet Academy?

: : Dec to Dec? Is that when she transferred out of Chamiade? If she transferred out of one school in Dec 2017 and wouldn't play again at another school until Jan 2019, I'm pretty sure that covers her one year sit out period. The question is: Is that player actually good enough to make a difference for ECR's team and season? Are they not looking good already? Someone had them projected as 3rd in open without her.

Yes, she is eligible in January.

And projecting them third is based on having her play. And if the team can integrate her and utilize her to the best of her ability while still getting good production from their other players, they can contend for the title. She is that good. Arguably will be top player in the City Section. Very quick, and can score, defend, and rebound.
