: : : : : I believe that I understood what I read in the playoff division breakdown from CIF office last week. CIF states that open teams will be selected from from Division 1 only. So, I am not quite sure why I see all these folks out there talking about some teams in other divisions that they think will make the Open. There may be like 2/3 teams outside Division 1 that have the talent, but have not shown they can play with the so called big boys yet. Correct me if I am wrong. It states it right above the Division 1 teams list.

: : : Not sure what you are referencing...if they changed it this year it would make no sense. The rule was specifically designed to allow for teams that are way too good for their division for some reason (such as Ribet last year who recruited a super-team but now are bad again).

: : : The likely team that might come from a lower division this year is Lakeside. Saw them several times over summer/fall and they look really good. But only time will tell when real games start.

: : Don't forget Granada Hills. They won all their games do far. Dominating Burroughs league, even put a beatdown on power house like Sierra Canyon last month.

: Ribet parents left I thought Granada parents left with the seniors I must be wrong because they are still talking Burroughs like it is CIF state finals

Hey GH Genius...this thread is clearly about the Southern Section Open Division.

Granada plays in the City Section.

And for the billionth time, don't talk about fall league. The games don't count, and obviously some coaches are way more into it than others. For example, Komaki would never get thrown out of a fall league game.
