: : : : 1. Knight

: : : : This division is about all of the returners from the key teams. Knight beat Brentwood in the State playoffs and both return their rosters so that will be my pick in the finals. Cat City also returns their core and lost in the CIF Finals. Viewpoint and Crossroads return most of their team and they are in same league as Brentwood so expect them to make noise. LB Wilson upset Lancaster and Burroughs in the playoffs last year and have two great guards. Tough league. Santiago is on a major upswing and is in a tough league also. Cerritos and Whittier Christian can make some noise. Not sure anyone other than these can win.
: : : : Their is a drop as a whole between 2AA and 2A to 3AA. Not as deep and not as bottom heavy. So I guess CIF got it right. My pick is Knight to win the division.
: : :
: : : ...but Crossroads lost their best player, who was ttheir leader in scoring, rebounds, steals, blocks aand nearly everything else.
: : : And they lost their coach and I believe just hired a new one, which means no summer or fall activities.
: : : They are taking a big step back.
: : : Viewpoint does return most of their team, but there is no way Brentwood doesn't finish third in that league behind Windward and Sierra Canyon.
: : I did pick Knight over Brentwood in Finals so we are saying the same thing. I just said Viewpoint and Crossroads will contend in a weaker than the other 3 divisions.
: Everyone in this division got a break; several teams at the bottom of 2A should have been in this division, but CIF once again changed their formula.. it was finally starting to level out after 2 years of balancing and they go tweaking it again.
: As for Kinight, they are well coached and had 2 great years, partially due to division placement and more so due to talent. Alot of the talent is gone.. they or Lancaster will win their league and they do return 2 of the best 5 players in the league.
: They will compete but dont think they win it all. Brentwood returns their top 5 players, well coached and the clear favorite. They play a balanced schedule of cupcakes and tough opponents..they will be ready.
: LB Wilson, if they return their top 2 could be dangerous. The upset you mention vs Lancaster was a shocker but they backed it up by going to quarters and leading the eventual champ by 11 in the 4th before losing in OT. If they got a couple players to complement the guards, watch out..
: Cat City has stepped up a level so they could compete, Word on the street is that Viewpoint got some transfers/new girls so we will see how that works out...Crossroads still not sure what happened, but great for Palisades.
: Unless one of these others got some beasts no one knows about yet, Brentwood is 20+ better than all the others mentioned. But thatís why we play...
Ocean View lost they stud player from last year to JSerra so the only place they're going is Division 4.
