: : : : Players should not be doing club this fall. D1 are not allowed to view HS players in club tournaments. Not at all. They can go to any HS practice or any HS Fall league as long as there all the players are from the same HS. Do your daughter a favor and stay away from the clubs this fall and make sure your HS coach has them in a top quality fall league that will be inviting the college coaches out in advance so they can get their compliance officers to approve. Any clubs who are still trying to work out and do things are doing so keeping your daughter away from where they are allowed to be seen. The club directors are claiming D2 and D3 and NAIA events at end of the month but those coaches can go to any fall league all the time. What they are doing is running an event that no D1 coaches can go to. ANY HS fall league can take all the D2 and D3 and NAIA ALONG WITH D1. By signing up you are restricting your player. Stay way this fall.
: : : How about Fall leagues that have club teams and high school teams playing in them? Is that OK? It is mainly high school teams.
: : D1 coaches will have to leave the gym when club teams are playing. They can come back when they are done. Hopefully the good leagues will put club teams against club teams and not have them play HS teams.
: Players still participating in club team activities should only be doing it for skills training.
: OP is correct, playing in tournaments or games has no benefit, but can result in injury.
: Talk to your high school coach and get in good leagues/tourneys/showcases and have the coach try to get some games against "name" teams - Windward, Sierra Canyon, Mater Dei, Etiwanda, Chaminade, Harvard Westlake, etc. And if you can't get games against them, you want to play before or after them to try and get some residual viewing time. LOL
: There should be coaches at games involving name schools with players getting recruited.
: Just don't expect them at some random mid-week fall league game against a weaker opponent.
Any club that is doing anything has no regard for an athlete, their HS program or whats best for them. Leave the skills to their HS coaches which. most are starting practice now. No reason to risk injury when coaches can only watch them with their HS teams anyway. Club coaches just want the buck now. Stay away. Parents help your kids get ready for season working with their team. If you want to help, put pressure on your HS coach to be in a good fall league.
