: No Fall viewing period for College Coaches. That means that HS teams will be rid of club after July. Kids can focus on getting better where it really counts. In front of your friends, peers and schools.
While that may be true for most kids, the fall viewing period is/was important to many kids trying to play at the next level to nail down an offer.
And not all HS environments are paradise - either due to coaching, quality of team, social and other team issues.
For many girls, travel/club ball is an escape from a not so great high school environment.
Whether or not it's good that the Fall period is eliminated is not cut and dry. But then, the decision has been made so opinions for both points of views are really irrelevant.
The overall changes coming to recruiting next year are going to greatly impact many high school players looking to play in college. Especially at the Power 5 level. With only one viewing period in July, everyone is going to have to go to the Midwest to be seen by the head coaches of major programs, and many mid-major too.
And beyond that, don't be surprised if the changes being made on the boys side don't get mirrored on the girls side. And that opens a whole new can of worms.
